I really love this school and how safe it is for the children. The kids are learning a lot and Mrs. Morgan is a really good teacher!

An incident happened at the end of the school year at the Mt. Healthy ELC. A report was made to me by a witnessing intervention specialist in my daughters intervention classroom reporting that my intellectually disabled, developmental delayed, and nonverbal daughter was slapped in her face after biting another intervention specialist(Ms. Fraizer) . It was also reported to me by the wittnessing intervention specialist that as a result of my daughter being striked in the face, my daughters cheek turned red, and she screamed and burst into tears. This incident was not reported the same day to me by phone call or written incident report. I actually found out days to weeks after the incident occurred by the wittnessing intervention specialist. The certified teacher(Mrs. H) did not report the incident either as the lead teacher of intervention class. I was told by the principal(Mrs. Burg) at the time that she would excuse my daughter absence from school for the last week because she and the school district allowed the investiagted teacher to continue to work until the end of the school year. So, indeed, my daughter missed the last week of school and her kindergarten graduation due to this decision. I have reached out to the HR Department on several occasions via phone calls, leaving voice mails as well as emails over the summer and the beginning of the school year. Finally, after receiving a call back, I was told by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Operations(Dr. Ogden) that they had a follow-up conversation with the teachers to discuss following the protocol of when to report these usual incidents. I was also told that they could not do anything about this because it was reported late and not the same day. No other disciplinary action has been taken. This ordeal has caused me much emotional stress because I do not feel safe or comfortable with my special needs daughter attending Mt. Healthy School District. I still do not know what the proper protocol is for these types of incidents. What to do when a child is biting a classmate or teacher. Slapping my child during a behavior should not be the protocol. I am very displeased and unhappy with how this situation and investigation were handled. I will never be at peace knowing that this happened to my disabled child.

I still have not gotten answers for my daughter. Mt. Healthy School District has shown me that they protect the teachers and not the student. They have shown me that they do not care. They are aware that this was not the first report of physical bodily harm caused by this same intervention specialist. They are aware that my daughter was physically assaulted, and they are all working together to cover it up. An impulsive act has been done to my daughter. This is very disheartening.

Shana the principal is very sneaky ...my perception she's racist I was told I needed an extensive background check to be on the premises....I have never seen her say that to a parent being the same race as she.....they don't want parents to see what they are doing to the children.....there are very few friendly faces.....my daughter is nonverbal and autistic they really don't care about the children but the money they get for the children...the IEP are designed for the likes of the staff not in the best interest of the child...I reached out to the superintendent Dr Hawkins she kept hanging up on me and having Shana the assistant principal call me ....I wouldn't recommend the ELC to my dog....talk to parents before you make your decision....listen to your children about these teachers
