Our 6 year old, now 8 has worked with Bert and Madeline for 2 years. As a professional educator myself - I am watchful of the pedagogy teachers use. When I see a teacher willing to stand on their head to get create concrete learning - I am more than impressed.
Bert and Madeline are like kids with the kids. They are caring and easy for my son to feel like he isn't there for tutoring. He's there to play a game. His growth in the last 2 years has been the answer we were looking for - just the right boost. I also appreciated that they advised on how to reinforce his learning at home. And when there was a particular hurdle, Bert made time to meet with our son everyday to review homework and high five.
A child tutor is something every parent has to weigh - "Is this too much - do we really need - how stressful will this be on my student..." I felt none of that anxiety. Instead, they have earned my trust and most importantly my son's trust. If you need special education help for your young person - stop looking. Here's an excellent match!

Our daughter has not attended eighth grade due to her medical condition and has been home schooled. Bert Schroeder through My Learning Pathways has provided her an exceptional in-home tutoring service. They have been working on English, Social Science, and Math. Our daughter is looking forward to meeting Bert every day and his positive teaching method has made Math (a boring subject for her) very fun. Bert comes to our home for the lessons and he is very accommodating and flexible with our schedule. This week we switched to distance-learning and were concerned due to our daughter’s attention deficit. However, Bert has made distance-learning fun for her and she has been engaged throughout the lessons.

My Learning Pathways provides exceptional tutoring services, including ISEE test preparation, which is what we experienced over 3+ months. Bert and Madeline Schroeder are delightful people, and they welcomed us into their home, which includes a number of animals that created a relaxing environment to ease into each tutoring session. Bert is an educator and Madeline has created developmental mathematics programs based on her research. With respect to ISEE test preparation, the focus was not just on test taking strategies, but more importantly, on increasing our child's understanding of key principals in both mathematics and language arts/grammar. We partnered with Bert and Madeline after our child took a computer-based Lower Level ISEE over the summer, and we were thrilled with the outcome, as our child increased the stanine scores in 3/4 subtests, including an increase of two stanine in one subtest. We wholeheartedly recommend My Learning Pathways, and would engage Bert and Madeline again in the future.
