Nvcc is very convenient location for everything that they provided. Best professors and teachers . I was attaining for ESL 3. I passed it. For the first time my education in my life. I'm an Asian. It's not easy for me, but I did it. I'll go back again this year for intermediate 4. I'll recommend Nvcc is the best college that I have known.

I went to speak with an advisor at the Danbury Campus, which is when I met Martha Charris (assistant director of admissions). My goal was to explain my situation to Martha, looking for insight on the process of admissions. When I first sat down in Martha's office, the noise outside at reception was so loud I was having trouble focusing on my thoughts and questions. I asked Martha if she would be okay with closing the door to minimize the noise, which she refused to do, saying it is against policy. I have never heard of a policy that would not allow for privacy in such matters - it's like a doctor's office telling you that you need to be seen in the waiting room - due to policy. I gently replied, asking if she could request the woman next door to lower her voice. In a passive aggressive tone, Martha responded that she wouldn't be the person to do that. After the difficult start to our conversation, I patiently waited until it was quieter in the office, so that I could voice my questions and actually hear the answers. Just as I began to speak, Martha interrupted, without hearing my questions, suggesting that she could transfer me to someone else who could answer my questions (she doesn't know what they are, mind you). I said that wouldn't be necessary, and if Martha gave me a chance to speak she could have easily answered my questions. Instead, she made a call to "Tammy", and was transferring me to her without letting me know. Tammy said, "is this a crisis?," Martha replied, "No." After hanging up the phone with Tammy, Martha seemed frustrated that she had to help me, it was clear she was desperately trying to hand me off to someone else. I asked her if I should continue, and as I spoke, Martha impatiently tapped her foot on the ground and made my experience extremely uncomfortable. I finally gave up with Martha - all she wanted to do was pass me on to someone else and give me paperwork that I have already received. Mind you, I have already attempted to get my questions answered via phone and was told it was absolutely necessary that I come in person to get my questions answered. I took time off from work to go to the campus as directed because I am serious about completing my education, and it was extremely discouraging to try and get my questions answered by someone who clearly had zero desire to help. I am so disappointed in the quality of people that are working at NVCC's Danbury campus. As the assistant director at NVCC, Martha has an important role, she should carry that title with pride and passion. It is clearly just a pay check to Martha. Even if Martha doesn't have a passion for students or education, which is obvious, you would think at the very least, as someone in the ADMISSIONS department she would be motivated to acquire applicants for her campus, not motivate them to look elsewhere. Even with all my frustration, I attempted to remain professional, and thanked Martha for her time - which she chose to completely ignore. I also feel necessary to share that I have had a positive experience with Bonnie, who clearly cares about a student's desire to acquire a degree and better themselves. She is at the Waterbury campus, which is out of the way for me, but clearly where I need to go to get my questions answered. I would not waste your time or money at the Danbury campus.

Complete joke of a school. I question if the professors are even real. But that’s what you get for free college.
