👍 Reviews of North Lake Tahoe Aikido

I've been learning at North Lake Tahoe Aikido for about four years. The quality of the instruction is top notch, with regular instruction from teachers only four or five steps removed from the founder of Aikido. Aikido is a complex martial art with a steep learning curve, and the teachers and students at North Lake Tahoe proceed with patience and generosity.

But just as importantly, the community of North Lake Tahoe Aikido is kind, welcoming, supportive, and warm. This is the place to go if you are looking for a group of martial arts practitioners who care about you as a person while challenging you physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Forget the stars. Aikido cannot be distilled into a star ranked review. Read the reviews instead. Better, come by for a visit.

I engage in the practice to better myself in ways I both expect and don't expect.

I've had that feeling as a part of a group that defines themselves against another group. That feeling of ego whipped up to hide an insecurity....well, I was happy to find that that doesn't exist here. It's just pure enjoyment of learning and refining.

The skill level is there. There is so much to learn and a broad cohort worldwide available to engage with.

I've been practicing with North Lake Tahoe Aikido for just about a year. The setting on the north shore of Lake Tahoe near the mouth of the Truckee River couldn't be more beautiful. The instruction is thorough and supportive resulting in very positive (sometimes frustrating) experiences. I highly recommend taking the time and opportunity to come see Aikido by the Lake!
