We loved our time at Nurturing Minds! It was stressful to put our daughter Iris in daycare for the first time, but from day one we were so reassured by everything we saw from the facility and staff at NM. The facility is orderly and clean, while still providing an inviting and cozy atmosphere. The teachers are LOVELY- special shout outs to Carla, Ali, Paige, Rubi and all the other 1s and 2s teachers! They treated my daughter like family, and she looked forward to her days there. I could tell that she was learning so much from the learning activities. As directors, Ms Nicole and Ms Linda were always so friendly and accommodating in their communication. We highly recommend NM for your little ones!

I would not recommend this place. I worked here for a very brief amount of time over the summer. I was finishing up my Early Childhood Education degree and needed a job that would work with my schedule. In the brief time I was there I saw multiple classrooms at their max ratios along with overwhelmed and overworked teachers. The teachers I met were great people and wanted to do a good job. I believe they were overwhelmed by the high number of children in a classroom and the demanding workload put upon them by management.

In one of the classrooms specifically there was a young teacher (with little ECE experience) responsible for up to 13 young children at a time. In this classroom there were some children with high needs that would require individualized attention very frequently.

In my opinion, the staff were expected to care for a high number of children without much resources to help them. The directors expected the staff to not only be the care takers for the children but also the janitorial staff.

Overall, I believe there are better places in town to enroll your child in. Places with smaller class sizes as well as experienced and supported teachers.

There are so many good things to say Nurturing minds learning center.

I will first start off by saying how amazing the director and assistant director are not only with communicating with parents but how good they actually are with the children. They both take the time to individually get to know and bond with each child like they are their own.

Right after that comes the amazing teachers in each class. My son had a rough start, Linda and Nicole both made me feel comfortable enough to say goodbye for a little bit. You can tell they seriously care for their kids. They update you everytime your child has a diaper change, eats lunch snack etc, when they go down for a nap and even cute random pictures/ videos. They do art and learn so many new things everyday. My son isn’t even 2 years old yet and he knows how to count to 20, count down from 10 and sing his abcs, twinkle little star etc. His speech has improved so much in such little time of him being here.

I have toured so many other daycares and by far this is the cleanest one. Everytime I walk into a classroom I always see at least one teacher sanitizing which is a plus because nobody likes dirty daycares!!!!!

I love that the food is always prepared fresh, each snack/ meal comes with a fruit or veggie! The cook is very good at remembering each child’s special meal substitutions.

Overall I give this place a 5 star!!!! And would recommend to anyone with littles. Each teacher really takes the time to learn and get to know each child like their own. They are seriously the best!

My granddaughter has been coming to this daycare for 4 months . The care givers/teachers have been wonderful. It was not easy leaving my granddaughter with anyone other than family but All the teachers are AMAZING. My granddaughter is 4 years old and is thriving in her new class. I would most certainly recommend this daycare to anyone!

Nurturing Minds is an amazing place. Our son was new to daycare when he started here and they gave him the attention he needed to flourish and grow. Now he loves it so much he doesn't want to leave! He also enjoys the food and eats more at school than at home!

It was a mixed experience. Let me break it down:

Cleanliness: The day care is impressively clean. The facilities are well-maintained, and I appreciate the effort they put into creating a hygienic environment for the children. As a perk they don't allow the kids to bite on day care toys (For hygienic reasons) and they do request comfort toys and teething toys.

Happy Son: My son seemed genuinely happy here. He enjoyed the playtime, activities, and interactions with other kids. That’s a big plus! He especially loved water day and painting. I got lots of happy pictures.

Incredible Staff: The staff members are friendly, caring, and dedicated. They genuinely care about the children and create a warm atmosphere. Rey absolutely loved Ms. Linda from the get go she naturally attracts children.

However, there are a few areas where the day care falls short:

Behavior Management: Unfortunately, they struggled to manage my son’s behavior effectively. He started biting and we didn't communicate effectively enough to maintain a constant redirection. Many factors can cause a child to bite, in his case a speech delay, a full class room, teething, nightmares, allergy medications, too many factors to count. I recognize personal fault as I started working full time and was leaving him longer hours. I found out about a DES Suspension prevention program too late, because he was already expelled. It is difficult for me to digest how an 2 year can be expelled. I have been working to try to find why he has a speech delay. I know that's part of the frustration. I contacted an early intervention program to see if he qualified for speech therapy without the long waiting time, but he didn't qualify for their program. I've done hearing tests and he apparently doesn't hear properly, and when it comes to AHCCCS getting the appropriate help can take some time.

Child-to-Provider Ratio: The day care has taken in a lot of children, which maximizes their child-to-provider ratio. While I understand the need for enrollment, it sometimes feels overwhelming for the staff and it is a contributing factor in a child feeling overwhelmed. The constant change in care givers, and the loss of a favorite one can also contribute to a child's anxiety. On several occasions when I dropped my boy off, I walked away feeling they were understaffed as there were multiple toddlers crying and I felt guilty walking away and adding him to the chaos.

Qualifications for Special Needs: I noticed that there isn’t enough expertise in handling children with behavioral issues. It would be beneficial if they had more qualified professionals in this area.

In summary, the day care has its strengths, but improvements are needed in behavior management and specialized care. I hope they address these concerns to provide an even better experience for all children. A lot of behaviors are a product of the environment, hence why I know he was happy, but he was also overwhelmed. I didn't remove him from the day care, he got expelled. Matter of fact I drove 25-30 minutes because it is better than other day cares closer to my house. So if you have a normal child without behavioral issues or any delays they will love this place and be happy and thrive.

100% recommend this daycare! There is great communication with the teachers and Ms. Nicole. I love that they have an onsite kitchen which prepares and serves fresh food. Our son loves his time here too! He has really opened up and the teachers have been great at helping with beginning to potty train him. We transferred our son to this daycare after our prior daycare failed to address some concerns we noticed. This daycare really cares for the children and wants to provide a welcoming and clean environment! I’m so excited we found this place because we feel heard, seen, and we know our son is safe, in a clean environment, and learning so much!

A Wonderful Experience!
I couldn't be more delighted with the exceptional care provided by Nicole, Linda, Paige, and the entire team at Nurturing Minds. After visiting over 10 daycares, I knew instantly this was the one for us.

My initial visit was unannounced and left me thoroughly impressed. The daycare was impeccably clean and all my questions were answered. The enrollment process was seamless and they assisted with making the transition from their previous daycare painless.

The facility is set up to promote learning in a well organized, safe, and clean environment. Admittedly, the doorbell entry and lackluster patio were initial downsides and concerns I raised with the director. I was assured of the exciting improvements that are to come.

Communication is stellar. Updates and photos keep me in the loop throughout the day and helps me feel connected.
The staff are all highly qualified and genuinely caring individuals! They are personable and take interest in each child individually.
They take the time to update me when I pick up my children and are always friendly when I drop them off.

Overall I couldn't ask for a better childcare provider for my family. I wholeheartedly recommend Nurturing Minds to any parent who is looking for someone who will genuinely care for their children. I have peace of mind when I drop them off knowing they are in capable and caring hands.

UPDATE!!
It's been a couple of months..... My girls are so happy! The staff members are AMAZING! (Especially Ms. Paige!) I need to give kudos to the chef! My children, who are picky eaters, enjoy every meal! The doorbell situation was upgraded and we are given a personal code to grant access making pick up and drop off even easier! They listen to concerns, are open to feedback, and are personable genuine people! We love it here and so will you!
