My 9 1/2 year old son has what appears to be severe dyslexia, and I was at my wit's end trying to find a solution. I've tried public school, Waldorf school, and Sylvan Learning tutoring...all to no avail. Finally, I stumbled upon Online Reading Tutor in the Fall of 2019. For the first time he is making REAL progress! For the first time he is actually READING!! We're still a ways from getting reading to be automatic and "easy" for him, but he has made marked progress that has been noticeable to us and other educational professionals that check his progress weekly (we're enrolled in a homeschool-oriented Charter School). We do the "Platinum Membership", so that he can have 1-on-1 tutoring 3 times a week, in additional to the using the online program. Having the tutor has made a massive difference in keeping him motivated, encouraged and helping us identify problem areas that the tutor has helped us work through. Our tutor, Jill, is the best--and has made him feel so successful as he has struggled to do something that is really HARD for him! In reality, the price is a steal compared to what we had paid for Sylvan Learning tutoring (~$42 per hour for a canned lesson that wasn't personalized, and was basically just pushing memorization). I'm a happy customer and will continue to have him work through this program! I finally feel like I am doing right by him, as a mother, and getting him the support he needs.

My grandson was struggling and hated reading in grade 1. He is extremely smart and inventive but totally balked at reading. We got him started with the Online Reading Tutor in Grade 1 and 2 and now at the end of grade 2 he is actually starting to enjoy reading. This program is inexpensive and very effective. Thank you, Bob, for helping and understanding Nolan's problems.

Online Reading Tutor is an excellent online reading program that is Orton Gillingham based. Their app assessment is amazing as well. My son is severely dyslexic. Although he can now read at grade level, the app was able to point out his weaknesses.

Jerome is in grade 7. He has been struggling with anything involving reading since starting school, but we knew he was smart because he had no problem with direct Math. His reading problems also affected his communication with peers, always choosing to be alone. Since starting this program in January, he has shown good progress in his school work. I have also noticed his growing ability to read has also motivated him to talk more.
