As working parents with family out of state, we were confronted with the all too real (and scary) task of finding reliable childcare for our then 5 month-old daughter. After countless phone calls and facility tours, we are eternally grateful that we landed on the doorsteps of Pat-A-Cake (PAC). From the first introductory visit, we felt at home in the care of PAC’s director, Dorothy, and her exceptional staff. With her long-standing career in early childhood education backing her and many years of engaging with local families, Dorothy immediately understood our wants, needs and insecurities. Her hug and reassuring words on that first drop-off day meant the world. We grew as a family while at PAC and were comforted to have a warm, nurturing, and trusted space for our son to join his sister. Our children flourished while at PAC, making lasting friendships with classmates and strong connections with their incredible caretakers. Despite relocating our family out of state, we continue to feel a close bond with the PAC team, many of whom have longevity with the program, and enjoy the sweet periodic updates and check-ins from staff.

For those that find themselves in a similar situation of having to place your child(ren) in a childcare setting, we can’t possibly capture with worlds the safety, security and peace of mind that can be found at PAC.

My children have been at Pat-A-Cake since they were in the infant room at five months old. We have made our way up to the Pre K room and have loved every stop along the way. The facility is clean and filled with fun and education material for the children. My children have made wonderful friends in their classes and have connected with each of their teachers. It is obviously that the staff cares deeply for the children and they go above and beyond to make the environment both fun and education. The socialization, education and nurturing my children have experience here have been priceless. We enjoy seeing smiling parents in the parking lot and happy kids running inside to see their teachers in the morning. I cannot recommend Pat-A-Cake enough!

I cannot say enough positive things about Pat-A-Cake - we have sent our daughter there since February 2020 and love the way they reinforce the importance of kindness and treating others with respect while fostering a wonderful learning environment.

My daughter has adored every one of her teachers (and loves playing school with us at home where she gets to be the teacher!) and the director, Dorothy, has been a pleasure to interact with. COVID was extremely challenging but she was a proactive communicator and always had the best interests of the children and staff at heart.

Now that it’s been safe to connect outside of school it’s also been wonderful to see the kids in my daughter’s class interact with each other at birthday parties - they all play so nicely with each other. It’s clear they’ve developed meaningful friendships and are learning what it means to be a good friend to one another.

Pat-A-Cake Preschool & Childcare Center is a hidden gem! We have been a part of the Pat-A-Cake family for the past 3 years. My son and daughter have been attending this school since they were 6months old. My kids absolutely love going to school everyday and adore their teachers and classmates! Teachers at Pat-A-Cake are extremely nurturing and encouraging. This school enriches its children with a multitude of experiences valuing art, music, literacy, science, math and social and emotional learning in a variety of engaging and meaningful activities embedded in play. Pat-A-Cake Director, Dorothy Heneghan is caring, and compassionate. It is evident by the respect she gives every family that she cares deeply about every child, parent and teacher that walks through Pat-A-Cake doors! At Pat-A-Cake your children will thrive in an environment where they are truly supported. We are so blessed to be a part of the Pat-A-Cake family and can't wait to send future children to this wonderful establishment!

Pat-A-Cake Playschool is an extraordinary childcare center. I feel so fortunate that my son and daughter are in such a caring environment. They are excited to go to Pat-A-Cake every day! There is a perfect balance of structure and free play. The teachers engage the children in a loving and nurturing manner by reading books, singing songs, playing games, gardening, creating art, and by teaching handwriting skills in a positive and joyful environment.

Pat-a-Cake Playschool teachers and Director, Dorothy Heneghen, prepared my daughter for social and academic success in Kindergarten! Every staff member cares for the children as if they are their own and are dedicated and invested professionals. My daughter attended PAC just for the summer and I would love to continue sending her if it wasn’t so far! She looked forward to every day at PAC! Every teacher she had was so warm and friendly. I had a wonderful experience with Pat-A-Cake. We were lucky enough to have them during a time when trustworthy childcare was hard to come by and spots in camps were few and far between as restrictions lifted post Covid. We were met with extremely professional staff who cared for my daughter as if she was their own. We got daily updates and courteous, kind, and timely communication.I have additionally had the honor over time to speak at the school as a doctor who focuses on natural family health. The focus on a well rounded day here for kids when it comes to physical and mental/emotional health and well being is to be applauded. My daughter still has the laminated infographic she was given on healthy eating along with a book on kindness and inclusivity. There was not a moment when I dropped her off where I had to worry. That is everything to me as a working mom. Thank you PAC for making the World a better place by taking care of our tiny humans. We love you.
