I have been watching Phineas Banning High School from the gym by way of the Varsity Basketball Team, and from the looks of things Education is the primary focus... Competition is a wonderful creation especially when it doesn't have boundaries and your mind is constantly being challenged physically and academically... The Maritime Scholars program has been a great attachment to the Varsity Basketball Program and when most parents are having doubts about public education compared to charter schools, well let's just say Phineas Banning High School has shown public education from a whole new perspective... On, May 6th 2016 I had the privilege of experiencing their PATHS Maritime Scholars Program "Underwater Robotics Presentation" sponsored by Phillips 66 in association with ITEP and a few other respective dignitaries from city government to private industry one for example was Jon Barr- SpaceX's Lead Avionics Intergration Engineer and it was a very enlightening event... And just for the record the Varsity Basketball Team has made a tremendous achievement from coming in dead last in their division last season to making the Playoffs this current past season which says Phineas Banning High School is on to something great in helping it's Students simplify creating a career path in life... In conclusion, way to go Principal Mendoza and the Varsity Basketball Program on striving to make your students academically competitive in Education while still maintaining the same competitive edge with the Varsity Basketball Program...
