This is a no frills pool facility with a great racing /lap pool (10 lanes) and a smaller therapy pool used for a lot of kids lessons and ORA water therapy.

This is not a swanky club. It is definitely a bring-your-own-everything place...towels, shampoo, etc.

In addition to the two pools there is a small gym with some equipment.

I wish I could give them 0....horrible instructors who don't care about swimmers....too many kids in one lane...during one of our practices, 2 kids got hurt and never got back to swimming again..."coaches" (if you can call them like that) did not do anything...just gave fist pumps to those kids who hurt others just because someone swims faster than they are.....no discipline...STAY AWAY FROM this place..we found another that really teach kids both discipline and how to swim different strokes...

My daughter enjoys her lessons, but booking a make-up class is extremely challenging. There are rarely classes available and one is recommended to call every day to see if a spot opens up, making it practically impossible to re-book. When I finally thought that we had found a make-up lesson, Pikes Peak refused to book it because it was earlier on the same day in which my daughter has her regular lesson. I wish they could make this easier for parents.

A great place for swim lessons. Small class sizes and a structured curriculum.

predatory billing & high instructor turnover

we enrolled our son here at about 3 years. while all the instructors he had seemed good with kids, the turnover rate was impossible. I think he had 7+ teachers over the course of about a year. every time there was a new instructor, there'd be a period of regression. and every time he was coming out of the regression, there'd be another new instructor. we discussed this with the facility staff and were brushed off-- told that the regression with change was normal, but they did nothing to stop the turn over rate. we ended the year-ish of lessons having almost no progress to show for it in terms of his swimming ability. he did enjoy the lessons, though, so not a total loss. Just not what we wanted, when we were hoping for him to learn more water safety skills.

when we decided to cancel, we called the front desk. they said okay, and we thought that was that. it was not. in order to cancel recurring billing you must go on their website and fill out a form. they WILL NOT stop billing from a phone call. they did not tell us that when we called, though. I guess they email you this policy at enrollment, but he was in lessons for a year and we hadn't remembered. I wish they would've let me know to fill out the form when I called to pull him from lessons, I would have done it. they didn't tell me to fill out the form when I called and told them we were unenrolling him, I got billed for another month, and then they refused to refund me (as per their policy).

Our three children started with PPA when they were 3.5 years old. The instruction, care and passion from everyone at Pikes Peak Athletics has been a tremendous gift to our family. We now have three competitive swimmers who cannot wait for the days they have practice. Our children’s joy and excitement about swimming comes from the family-like atmosphere, smiling faces and camaraderie that has been consistent since we joined PPA 5 years ago. I cannot say enough about their knowledge and kindness to all of their swimmers and families.

My 8 years old son loves to sweem here. We compared 3 different pools in Colorado Springs, and the kid chose this one. The price is reasonable compared to others.

Bonnie Sue is an instructor at Country Club of Colorado with Pikes Peak Athletics. I’ve been to two other swim schools in town within the last 12 years and can genuinely say Bonnie Sue is hands down the best instructor we’ve ever had. She is always kind and patient with my kiddo and offers feedback at every lesson. She is in the water swimming with my child, not just verbally instructing her. My daughter has learned to swim in less than 6 months and I believe it is due to Bonnie Sue and her technique.
