Wheel 1 Extendo was such an instructive and fun 6 week course. Ollin is particular adept at training people who are completely new to throwing (like myself and my partner who took the class together). The studio is welcoming, friendly, and organised. I ended up making 5 pieces total but other students managed 6-8! The endeavor was both more difficult and more fun than I had assumed it would be — and it was mostly the latter!

This is an amazing space. I took a four week wheel class with Olin and he was an incredible teacher. He is so detailed in his instructions and very willing to answer questions and help you through the process. Most importantly, this was so much fun! The space is welcoming and Ollin’s teaching style makes everyone laugh and feel confident. I highly recommend Pot and I am definitely going to return for more classes.

The class was great but they have really terrible communication and we still have not been able to pick up our bowls that we made months ago. We got an email that they were ready and when we stopped by to pick them up they said they weren’t ready and laughed off how bad their system was. And then never got in touch with us again. Extremely disorganized, and I would not go back, there are better studios that have fun lessons and you actually get the thing you made and paid for.

Had an instructor not let me inside the building when I took a drop-in class here a year ago. I knocked on the door and he ignored me despite there being other students in the room early. Then he suspiciously opened the door and let me in when I convinced him my name was on the list.

I don't know if he's still there but I suspect he thought I didn't look like a real pottery student. It was a mediocre class anyway and we spent much of the time being forced to watch him instead of being allowed to try it ourselves. Just remembered this when I wanted to try another pottery class but had a bad feeling about going here again.

I modeled at the Jefferson location and they seemed very chill but I'm hesitant to try POT LA here again even though this location is closer.

edit: I'll email the team but it was the other way around. I rescheduled for a class at the EP location when I couldn't make it to the Garden one. Still no excuse for the guy being a jerk. He didn't ask my name at all. Just stared at me through the glass until I banged on it and told him I was there for class.

POT is so welcoming and a great place to find community. Even if you're a beginner, their classes are fun and engaging. I've taken several wheel throwing classes with great instructors and recently with the pandemic their zoom handbuilding classes have been a fantastic outlet of creative energy. Every teacher and employee makes this studio unique and wonderful!

I’m currently half way through my four week Wheel Class 1 course and I’m loving every minute of it! The energy and instructor (Clark) are amazing and I can’t wait to take more courses in the future. If you’ve been meaning to take a ceramics course, POT is the place for you.

It was super fun and the instructor Ollin was incredible; he walked you step by step through the entire process and encouraged you so much along the way! I will definitely be coming back for more classes. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!!
