Dominique is a wonderful tutor. My daughter loves her lessons. She is always punctual and super organized. Her teaching style is effective and efficient and her communication skills are excellent. We are glad that we made a choice to go with Powerful Prep.

This company is IT! We went with another Big Name company with our older son and felt is was an okay value for the results for around $4,000. We interviewed and visited several for my younger daughter, and couldn't find the flexibility or great fit.

But Powerful Prep is the real deal. Just having a stable of really smart tutors that scored near perfect and come from top schools is not enough. We got to deal with the owner and he spent high quality time personally evaluating my daughter's tests, and noticed trends nobody else picked up on. This place feels like they truly care about getting you linked with the right tutor and studying the right material.

Face it, any kid could spend hundreds of hours on the material and tests provided free on the internet and probably drastically improve their score. But the whole idea behind having a concierge type service for your kid is to study and prepare smarter, not harder. We couldn't be more pleased with the difference PP brings to the table.

I was honestly torn between a few choices to receive help with my SAT studies, and I am absolutely sure that I made the right one in Powerful Prep. From the get-go, I was convinced by their professionalism, and quick-to-act nature. Certain aspects such as their diagnostic test which determined my strengths & weaknesses, and very apparent willingness to help me succeed convinced me that I was in the right place. My tutor, Luke Rickford, was especially impactful in my studies and helping me understand the overall psychology of the test.
Super happy with the boost in my score as well, of course! (1290 -> 1460)
5 stars for a 5 star company!

Can't say enough good things about Powerful Prep. My daughter was a high achieving senior at OCSA, which means she also had Visual Arts Conservatory after school everyday and she is also a competitive softball player on a travel team. She did not have time to take those drawn out weekly classes or to go sit through those all day Saturday seminars. Instead she did four personal sessions with the tutor Kevin on her own dining room table over the course of 3 weeks. He gave her an assessment test before he showed up and brought her a personalized strategy plan and loads of practice materials for her to do. He gave her target due dates and worked it all out with her - all I did was pay the bill and make sure the table was clear. She improved 200 points on her next SAT and then self studied and took the test again for another 80 point gain. She got into Swarthmore College (#3 ranked in US, most selective) for Fall 2016 and is loving the school and doing well after her first semester. PP is not cheap, but it is personalized and effective.

Their college admissions counseling team really helped me make my essay strong. He showed me how to turn my coding experience into a compelling application narrative. He even showed me how to weave my recommendation letters into that narrative as well. These guys know their stuff, especially when it comes to Ivy League Admissions. I couldn't recommend them more.
