This company is fantastic. I was told by someone, just because someone has an impressive background in firearms doesn’t mean they can teach. That is so true. In this case, Range U has both-an impressive background and the skills to teach...civilians. That is an important distinction. We are learning marksmanship and the skills to protect us and ours, not going to war. As such, it’s important to keep the material functional.
The class size is small. I have had one on one instruction, as well as classes with 30 other students. The size of class with Range U is small enough for lots of personalized instruction, while also allowing us to learn from our classmates scenarios, and still get that sense of camaraderie with our peers.
One thing I really appreciated about Mikey is he began each topic with a why. Why we are doing this, or why something is so. Stating that at the beginning is crucial for me, as it removes the confusion. Focus vs overload or trying to connect the dots is a straighter path for my learning style, and retention.
Regarding the facility-Anyone lucky enough to come out for firearm training or land navigation is in for a treat. As they continue to develop this range, it will be a place of serious training, as well as a place of great fun. I can’t wait to go back. And I can’t wait to share it with others.
Do yourself a favor and give them a go. You won’t regret it.

I attended the 2-day RU Precision Rifle 101 class recently. The program and the instructors were excellent. All the fundamentals were covered in a manner that was easy to grasp and apply in the field. Key topics such as range safety, equipment set-up, marksmanship, ranging and even alternate positions were built on during the two days. The instructors are dedicated to increasing the skill level of the students through practical lessons. The class far exceeded my expectations as have previous RU classes.

I attended the 24 hour winter survival class with instructor Mickey. He lead us through selecting a safe camp site, fire skills, water collection, gear selection, and much more. The course was informative even for experienced winter campers. Range University courses draw people from all walks off life but with the common goal of learning new skills while having a great time. I highly recommend checking out Range University courses. Your learn a bunch of great skills, meet some cool people, and have a blast doing it.

Mickey Bee and his specially selected staff are amazing. I attended the Pistol 101/102 class as a true beginner. I was very nervous after a less than enjoyable experience at another firearms class. Mickey and Sara (a total badass) worked together so that the class was educational, enjoyable, and really fun for the 5 beginners and the 5 experienced attendees. After spending the day together and with long drives home for many people nobody wanted the day to end and everyone went out for an enjoyable dinner. I am stalking the Range U webpage weekly hoping for more classes on the east coast!!!!

I attended Pistol 101/102 and Dynamic Reflexive Pistol 201 in Louisville over the weekend of 10/10 & 10/11. I would highly recommend any RU class to anyone of any type of experience level. The instruction is catered to all experience levels and can help raise skills or break bad habits that have developed over time. The courses are methodically developed to replicate on your own after course completion to continually further hone skillsets. I will definitely look to attend more classes in the future and look forward to the education provided by the tremendous RU team!!!!!

To begin with, I have taken several training classes as well as competed in some local "light" competitions. Well, I picked up some bad habits that Mikey Bee diagnosed in the Basic 101 class. Weak-hand placement and dropping the barrel when presenting on target were two key things identified. Mikey and Team are top notch instructors that truly want to teach and help you improve.

What this class also did for me was to understand how to better train by focusing on presenting and self diagnosing missed shots. It is easy to hit steel from 10 to 25 yards out, but to understand where you are hitting and how you can improve your shot is something you will certainly learn from Range University.

I highly recommend that you take a class with Range University to improve your marksmanship. Next for me is the Carbine Class in Austin!

I’ve been around guns my entire life but never had someone who could give me the knowledge to help me self diagnose my bad shooting habits later on my own. I went to the Pistol 101 class this past weekend and it was AMAZING!
Mikey makes you feel very comfortable and communicates the how’s and why’s very clearly. He doesn’t throw too much at you at once to overload you but has a way to quickly build your skills and confidence.
Would highly recommend anyone to take this class!

I took the Pistol 101 course in Virginia (September 2020). I cannot say enough good things about my experience. The instructors were knowledgeable, encouraging, and patient, not only with me, but also with my peers, most of whom had little to no experience. At no point did I feel overwhelmed, out of my depth, or unsafe. By the time I left, I felt comfortable handling my new pistol. The session provided sufficient background and practical drills so that I could be confident going to the range to practice my new skills. And Mikey insisted that I shoot until I was finally able to hit the steel target - because he knew I could. It was a win! I'm looking forward to 201.
