Hey, current media student here responding to another review I saw.

Neither people mentioned in that review (Ribbons or the referenced media teacher) are employed at RCA anymore. RCA is a very safe place and I have learned a lot from all my teachers. This is a place where I feel free to express myself and grow as an artist. This is my third year here and I can't wait to work on more shows!

If your child wants to gain more experience and gain lasting bonds this is definitely the place for them πŸ™‚

Editing cause I remembered something I brushed off as not a big deal. As a senior a teacher told me to be nicer to one of the boys in my class, I said no he touches me inappropriately and won't stop unless I'm really mean, the teacher said "I know, just try to be nicer." For added context I'm trans, so a grown man told a teenaged girl he was in charge of to be nicer to the boy who was touching her. That teacher isn't there anymore, but he was defended by the principal throughout the time he was at the school and it took way too long for him to get fired (I hope he was fired, he may have quit). Parents complained, kids left the school, and every time the teacher would just get his feathers rustled and the principal would defend him. I'd like to look Ribbens in the eye one day and tell him he never deserved my respect. We were CHILDREN.

The video department is horrible and the sole film teacher knows more about being unprofessional than film. Favoritism runs deep, the principle even defended a kid who would steal things and beat people up because he was good at piano. He went so far as to insinuate a threat towards a friend when he tried to report the bullying after having his shoes stolen, saying "handle it yourself, because you don't want to see me handle it." Being away from RCA and in college has made me realize how horrible it is. Don't go there, don't send your children.
