This school is the mixture of good and bad. You have the teachers that actually care about you, and you have the teachers that don't. The food could be better, and they could also do something with the fact that there is mold growing on some of the ceiling tiles in the classrooms. They focus very highly on sports, and not so much on the art classes or education.

Mrs. Baker doesn't really seem like she puts an interest into our music classes, considering the fact that she has made the Choir move their first concert date to another day because of the fact that she took the auditorium an event that had been rescheduled twice before hand.

Another thing about Mrs. Baker is that although she does try her best to make sure that we are all safe, when it comes to a safety issue and you bring it up to her, it does go in one ear and out the other. Unless it is happening at that current moment, she doesn't feel the need to do anything about it.

Teachers need to find a better way to handle the class well enough for other students to be able to focus and learn. Although many attempt to keep their class in check, they do nothing more than yell at students, just for them to go ahead and do it again.

Although there are good qualities of the school that I did not mention, after almost four complete years at this school, I can only give it a 2/5. There are so many things that this school needs to fix in order for this school to be the way that the school board and facility members truly want it to be.

After observing this school for a total of four years now i’m going to give a list or “rant” of my views of this school. This is from the prospective of a honors student who has just watched a total of three different principals cycle through the school. Also a student who never had a disciplinary action against them. Here we go.. Horrible school to attend well deserving of their 2.6. They try to cover up their own mistakes to look good. They have the most bias teachers who favor some and single out others. Their dress code is a joke. They target females who have “meat on their body”, so if your child is skinny she can wear whatever she chooses. Teachers who aren’t even licensed to teach are able to sign up. Biased money taken out of actual good arts programs and funneled into a bunch of dying sports teams. Recognition for program accomplishments are rare depending on your program. Horrible lunch that on cases have either spoiled or raw food sprinkled into it. Rude students and rude teachers. Hazardous environments.

I liked my daughter's dance team coach. The nurse was very kind, caring. I can't speak for all of the staff for I haven't encountered them all, but many were rude. The principal, he is kind and professional but oblivious. The vice principal is rude. The front desk secretary is rude to students and adults and needs to be replaced.

Tbh this school is the definition of dog water. Super strict rules is definitely one of the reasons. The rules of this school make you feel like a child, this school definitely does not prepare you for life. Would not recommend

I've moved around from my parents being in the military. I've gone to 11 different schools (not including college) and the russel county high school has by far been the worst school system I have been to. I had a p.e teacher religiously call my mother to tell my mom about by life in school, I.e who I was dating, when I didn't dress out for class but still participated. And then the next day would ask me if I had gotten in trouble by my mother. I had to have a parent/teacher/ principal confrence with the school to tell them what the teacher was doing and nothing was done and no apology was given. Later that year she would end up yelling at me in front of everyone say she would "never raise her daughter to be like me".

Later on that year after spending all night in the hospital after my brother had to be rushed to the e.r, my mom rushed me back to school while I was in my pjs, only for me to be sent to the front office because of my Betty boop sweat pants that broke violation of the dress code. So instead of understanding that I spent all night in the hospital, I didn't get to turn in my homework and was sent to the office to call my mom. Even then the front office did nothing so I walked out to my p.e locker to change into gym shorts and didn't get yelled at or even watched. Weird that they don't watch for kids being where they aren't supposed to? I could have easily walked out and nothing would have happened. Anyways that same teacher would end up getting really mad at me collecting a note to put into my binder she would then try to proceed to take the note back out of my binder to take it away from me, but when I slid the binder over to me she waited till I left the class to call the office on me to say that I twisted her fingers and refused to give her the note. Which later on I would be taken out of class again to be questioned about everything, but nothing be done since she was lying. So I was taken out of valuable class time because of her lies towards me.

In another class I found myself standing up to a bully who told a boy to kill himself in the middle of clas. I yelled at her telling her how mean that was using 1 curse word, again finding myself to be called after class so the teacher can tell me he only allows certain students he knows to curse in class and that was unacceptable to do. He played favorites and would only talk to his "favorite group of students" for the class period. He was also Facebook friends with the same kids. Maybe cause its a small town?

This was over 5 years ago. I now have a daughter of my own and am making sure we are far away from this school system as possible before putting her in school. However if I ever find myself in Alabama during the time she starts school I will gladly be homeschooling my daughter.

Our son is enjoying it there and we don't have anything negative to report. The only instance was his cell phone was stolen in the Gym, but that can happen anywhere. Curriculum is going great, he's advancing and enjoying his stay.

Nothing teacher's never taught you anything. Everything was out of the book. School was nasty. Teacher's wrote students up for stupid things. Teacher's never actually taught you anything they made you do it by yourself even if you didn't know how too.

Don't recommend administration and rules seem stupid, only school around that snatches phones cause they can, and are on a power trip at the moment, but it has a great set of coaches in most sports
