I was supposed to see a gynecologist here today after waiting 6 weeks for an appointment. If you type "125 Paterson St" into Google Maps, it, for some reason, deposits you about a mile away. I called and tearfully asked for directions, and I was hung up on by the call center, who told me they wouldn't hold my appointment. They told me to figure it out. How can you hang up on a patient who is crying and begging you for help?

I ran until I found the building, but the office called me back to tell me they'd canceled the appointment right as I was walking up to the office, just 2 minutes after my appointment time. The appointment was to find out if I'm infertile or not. They offered me another appointment date I couldn't take because I used the last of my PTO being there today. 6 weeks of waiting to find out if I'll ever be a mother or not, and they couldn't hold my appointment for 2 minutes because of something outside of my control that they should have been able to help me with.

I won't entrust my healthcare to people who genuinely don't care for their patients' safety, time, or mental health. I can only imagine I'd be treated as callously in person as I was on the phone today. The silver lining is that there is another gynecology office a short walk away at 1 Robert Wood Johnson where the staff actually care. It's all within the same RWJ network but entirely different staff. I walked over there and got an appointment. They couldn't see me the same day, but they were devastated for me, and it was the first compassion I'd experienced all day. If you're trying to make a gynecology appointment with the university hospital, ask for the one at 1 Robert Wood Johnson, NOT 125 Patterson.

I’m supposed to see a neurologist through this location and it’s a disgrace. They constantly reschedule appointments, when they do that sometimes they schedule appointments out 3 months minimum. They always reschedule due to issues they cause themselves. Multiple times I was called to reschedule appointments because they double booked. Not only that but when they need to get a hold of you to fix their mistakes they will harass you till you answer the phone. It doesn’t matter if you’re at a doctor’s appointment elsewhere or at work and can’t talk they threaten to just cancel the appointment then. Every time I speak to someone I’m told conflicting responses. Someone has to be in change and take responsibility but everyone seems content with pointing fingers at each other. I had called to ask if my referral was still good for my upcoming appointment, and I was told yes by multiple people. Then I get a call a week before appointment to confirm and remind me I need a new referral because mine expired. Why was it three separate people told me I did not need one and now I need one a week before appointment and I have to cancel other plans and work to get a referral I thought I didn’t need. They have no compassion for their patients and simply don’t care.

For a while now I have been trying to find a medical facility and team that treated me like my health actually mattered. I used to go to Hackensack Jersey shore because it was close and they would ALWAYS dismiss my concerns for proper care. I went to Hackensack for the last time in September of 2023 with concerns of not feeling well. I was weak, vomiting, in pain, fatigued and by February of 2024 I was in ICU at RWJ for Diabetic Keto acidosis. They immediately ran proper test and took action to get me well. The team of doctors that are in charge of my care currently have been with me since admission and I couldn’t feel more safe. IT IS STILL VERY TRAUMATIC knowing that a previous medical facility went out of their way to DISMISS my care, my concerns, my health, and my life and then tried to gaslight me when I refused to be treated that way because I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG. If my diabetes would have been left untreated much longer who knows where I’d be. But the care team I currently have is literally a God send. My doctors proactively follow up with my care and I swear it is a feeling so great when you are finally heard and cared for like your life matters. THANK YOU to the endocrine team, pulmonary team, cardiac team, and medical team.

I saw Dr Jammie Law in rheumatology, if only more doctors would be like her! Firstly I was running 20 minutes late since I could not find parking but because I had traveled a distance she agreed to see me even though she had already packed up to leave. She took time to listen to my concerns, explain everything clearly, and even guided me to helpful online resources for my condition. Her bedside manner is amazing! Highly recommend!

Having a medical school who hires people who support political assignations draws into question the medical schools ethics and values. Do not trust your life with these people.
