I participated in Ryan's class back in 2017. One of the best acting schools in LA 🙂

Ryan R Williams defrauded me for 175$ for an acting course rescheduld at the last minute a month later still hasn't issued a refund or a assigned a date and has ignored communication with me and only responded to claim he didn't see my refund request using the app he initially took my payment on.

I would not call this a professional business. I responded to the offer of a free audit. This possibly should have been a clue that the web page I viewed was too good to be true. I emailed ahead and told them I was interested in creating professional footage to prepare a reel of clips to use as audition material for a University I will be applying to next year. The website clearly stated that was the objective of "The System." The promotional video clip was misleading in that it showed full, professionally shot, productions with background actors, steady-cam and boom shots, nice lighting, and interesting editing and sound. I was emailed an address in Studio City and room number for a 7:30-11:30 class.

When I arrived, no one was there...but a girl walked into an adjoining room so, after the start time had passed, I knocked on that door to see if they knew anything about this business. I had driven over an hour to be there and cancelled a morning class because the website promised something special... otherwise, I would have left.

This room contained a tiny theatre and the girl who had entered previously said, "Ryan's usually late." If these weren't further hints that I could go ahead and leave, the fact that the young lady told me she paid $225 a month but none of the classes had yet been on camera should have been enough...however, I stayed to investigate further.

Ryan R. Williams was quite a character. He had his students run scenes and included us (two) auditors as well. That should be a bonus...right? He had some interesting perspectives on the useless of Meisner and Stannislavsky methods, like a true pirate, and I'm okay with that Rebel Without a Cause perspective. He said he'd be brining in cameras next month or maybe next week when the nice girl I'd met earlier asked about it. He had some of his students run through scenes and perform some improvs. Since his website said that he'd worked with Jodie Foster and other notable actors, I really expected something special but I can't say that there was anything but...hey...I'd driven
a long way to be there so why not give it a chance...right?

Wrong!

When Ryan's class (not on camera...no discussion of making reels or clips... didn't seem like he was at all aware of my email) went into overtime (it was almost midnight) it was time for me to go. I fall asleep at the wheel if I get too tired and I wanted to make it home safely. During a break, a walked over to Ryan to thank him and let him know that I was going. He proceeded to publicly shame me, LOUDLY for leaving...the class that was supposed to have been over half an hour before. To be fair, the nice girl from Oklahoma told me, "He sometimes goes till 2am." I suppose some people would feel they're getting more for their money. I prefer to make it home in one piece to take care of my family and animals.

I'm not telling anyone to avoid this class but be forewarned if you're expecting the level of professionalism suggested by his website, you may not find it. An apology would go a long way Ryan R. Williams.

Beware, this guy is a wannabe acting coach turned crypto scammer. Dude ended up stealing tens of thousands of dollars from various investors in the space.

Absolute trash of a human being and I highly recommend you stay clear of this degenerate con artist.
