The teachers are unconsidered and rude. They threw away children's food for no good reason. The teachers don't care about your religions rules. A certain teacher made a child sing Christmas songs even though it's against their religion. Don't send your children here!!

I would highly recommend Sonoran Science Academy East. We have been apart of the SSA east school for the last nine years and have had amazing teachers. The schools staff is very supportive and they place the child’s education at the highest priority. The school provides great before and after school clubs/programs. Our children have formed bonds with their teachers that have made an impact in our lives. For example Ms. Menning (3rd grade) supported her students by attending sporting events outside of school. She demonstrates a passion for teaching and academically enriching her students. Amazing at breaking material down so the students understand it. Extremely patient, supportive and finds what truly motivates each individual student. Great at building confidence within the classroom and making learning fun.

I've been going to this school for 9 years and it's been getting worse every year. I started to notice how bad it is in 5/6th grade. The school lunch has gotten so bad over the years that sometimes it's not even edible. The teachers don't really care about us they just want to get paid. We have the stupidest rules ever. Especially the P.R.I.D.E packet. If you forget a pencil, you have an hour of detention after school the next day. Also, they banned black jackets. THEY BANNED A COLOR 😭. I have a countdown to when I graduate. Please think about all of this before sending your kid to this school.

We have had great experiences academically, with administrators, teachers and handling behavioral issues. We have seen vast improvements on my child’s education, drive to learn and personal growth expectations. They do not tolerate bullying; and they hold my child accountable for misbehaving. Behaviorally, they have provided resources to my child to help grow into a respectable person and make better decisions. The teachers are very caring and take the time to get to know the kids; they provide a caring and loving environment. The administration has been superb to work with and are extremely supportive. I have been so pleased from pulling my child from TUSD into SSA East!

Sonoran is a great school made even better by the amazing teachers and staff! They're all incredible especially Ms. Menning. She goes above and beyond for her students and truly cares for each one of them. We are so grateful our students have her as an educator.

This school is great, but it could be better. Please read below for Pros and Cons.

Cons:
It used to be a 8:1 teacher student ratio, and now more than 25 kids in a class exist. Not only that the food, it unfortunately doesn't seem to be real, but you can always bring your own lunch. This school is very strict, and this is because of a load of students misbehaving a lot everywhere during school.

Pros:

This school has very kind teachers, and work can be easy but not all the time. If you ever need help, you can always email them for the help, the teachers are glad to be helpful.

If you were wondering where I received this information, is because I graduated here in
May of 2021. This school is overall okay, but it needs a lot more recreation

I can’t say how much I love this school. My daughter is in 3rd grade, and every teacher has been exceptional.

During 1st grade, we faced the pandemic and had school on zoom. As a mom who worked front lines in healthcare during this time, I can’t express how hard the balance was. But Ms. Ola made it happen. The fluid communication with her made school at home and even the transition back to the classroom seamless, and she assisted with helping my daughter with her reading and writing skills - which she struggled with.

During 2nd grade, my daughter truly learned her love for math and was greatly encouraged by Ms. Cashman. She made learning fun, as it should be. Reading and writing truly became a struggle this year. The environment she created fostered a learning environment that made her feel like she could ask for help, and she did. Ms. Cahsman worked with her to improve all her skills and made her feel like she could do anything.

Come this year; in 3rd grade, my daughter has Ms. Menning. This year we continued to struggle with reading, but his confidence keeps building, and I can see the improvements every day. Ms. Menning has focused on getting to really know her and learning all her strengths and building on them. My daughter doesn’t hesitate to read things at home and attempts to spell everything. She even reads to her little sister nearly every day. I’ve gotten updates about milestones in the classroom, like when she volunteered to read aloud in class.

Every single one of these teachers has played a pivotal role in her success. They have all worked with her one on one after school and tutored her. For free, I might add. They have encouraged her and set a fire in her to do her very best even when it’s hard.

I’m very thankful for this school and its amazing staff. I can see the family they are, and it's rare to find that type of community. They have been so good to my daughter and my family

This school is great at helping my son adapt from online schooling during covid. Ms Menning is an amazing 3rd grade teacher and made sure he adjusted well and built his confidence. All of the staff is super friendly and are super nice and help my son when he feels anxious. After school program is amazing and flexible at decent cost.
