I’m very thankful to the Route to Relief program and Maricopa Community College District for helping me build my skills. The financial help from the program paid for important expenses, so I could concentrate on my classes. Because of this, I earned my EMT certification, which opened the door to more job options in areas that really need workers. This has made my job search a lot less stressful. Thank you again for this amazing chance to grow!

First things first, many of the professors are great. Most are passionate about what they teach, and it reflects in their feedback for certain work turned in. Secondly, they don't hold a TON of events, but they hold enough. I recently went to a resume building workshop, and it was very informational. There's a couple more I plan to attend, but overall I am very satisfied being here 🙂

I love SMCC. I always feel welcomed. The facility is cleaned and looks new. The staff is very cordial and friendly. The wait time is also short. Less than five minutes, at least from my experience. If you ask the front desk an info and they don't know, they get you with someone who can help. I wish they had a nursing program. But SMCC is my number one community college, and I had been referring my friends and family there. So far, no complaints. Keep up the good work. 👍

South Mountain Community College is by far the best college to attend if you're a college student. Your classes are generally capped at around 24 or 25 students, the college is known as the college with the heart, and there are a lot of opportunities to be had.

If you were at all interested in anything business, definitely get involved with DECA which is a business oriented student organization. They get to do a lot of business related events and even some travel if you qualify had a competitive event.

As a student and student worker this college exceeds every expectation I could have ever had for Community College and my first Community College. Advisors are Hands-On and want you to succeed. They will work with you and all types of ways to see succeed and do well. And they look into all possible resources to help you through your college experience in any way possible. They also have free counseling services, tutoring, disability resources, scholarships and grants, student life and so much more it's amazing. Also cheaper than any of the major universities.

I've had a wonderful experience here, and I've been to 2 other universities. The faculty & professors all actually care about you as an individual. Your life outside of class and your goals matter to them. Class size is small! I've never been in one bigger than about 13. You'll start to recognize faces, and it's easy to make friends & find friendly mentors. There are so many helpful outlets to apply for scholarships and other aid. Tutoring is free and convenient hours for it. Also, very helpful transfer experts who assist you in going to ASU, if that's a goal of yours. My only complaint is that sometimes a class doesn't fill up enough, while it's taking enrollment, so then they have to cancel the class if not enough interest. But I would definitely recommend coming here -- I'd say it's the ideal community college.

The staff is friendly helpful & encouraging... I failed at so many schools. But SMCC was the one who helped me the most... I graduated with my AS from South in 2021! Best feeling ever! ♡
