I will NOT go back to SOMC for ANYTHING. I went for severe dehydration, nausea, vomiting, heart pap 6 days no food or drinks. I only seen ONE Dr the whole 48 hours I was admitted and they never updated me on my test results. Sent me home with no medication. service sucked. It took a nurse 30 minutes or more to come after turning on your call light. I willl NEVER go back. “Better things are happening here” haha! Right. I’m going to walk my fish now

Urgent care out patient in Burg took over an hour after being checked in which was extremely quick and efficient to call us back for blood work. It was ridiculous. They took 4 other walk in people long after we had been checked in but when I questioned it they said oh they probably had appointments. Then they told us they couldn’t even do one of the tests. Beyond senseless.

I was taken in for extreme high blood pressure, and chest pain and they had a hard time keeping the pressure below 196/103 with some readings at first as much as 213/135. They checked my vitals constantly though, ran multiple tests cat scans X-rays nuclear stress test etc, all came back and the bed side manor i received was very well. On the second day they administered comfort meds and started a detox on me. He figured I am having complications with the medicine, anyway every nurse or Dr I had treated me well as long as I was good to then , they gave me Xtra blankets, drinks. For me they were great

I went to the emergency room and everyone in the waiting room was saying they were waiting 4+ hours or more. After an hour, I decided to leave because i couldn't stay in the waiting room all night. There was a guy walking around asking people if they wanted pillows or blankets if that tells you anything. I had asked him if there was anything I needed to know, sign, or do before leaving and he told me no. He said I was just free to leave. Never saw a doctor, didn't get any testing, and had absolutely nothing done besides vitals. I received a bill in the mail for over $200 because they claim I received proper treatment even when I was never seen. I have contacted patient relations multiple times and they have done nothing. I should have been told up front or should have been given a paper when leaving the emergency room waiting room that day explaining that I would still receive bills in the mail but was told nothing. Had I known I would still have to pay the bills regardless I might have stayed to get some kind of treatment. Yes, I received TWO bills in the mail from this visit. They say I was seen by a doctor, however the woman taking my vitals never made me aware if she was the doctor or just a nurse practitioner. Again, the ONLY thing I had done was my vitals, then I was sent back to the waiting room before I decided to leave. They claim they started taking vitals and sending people back to the waiting room because they say that speeds up the process. Obviously that is not the case or you would not have people sitting there for over 4 hours. I was also told by patient relations that if I had left before getting my vitals done, that I wouldn't have received a bill. How was I supposed to know that? I feel like they take your vitals as soon as you check in just so they can put you in the system and bill you for it in case you leave before receiving treatment. This should be made clear when you check in that you will be billed as soon as vitals are taken.
I strongly recommend you NOT going to SOMC because I feel they are crooked and do not care about their patients. I will be taking my business to King's Daughters from now on.

Horrible ER! Waited almost 8 hours in the ER waiting room in severe pain in my leg. My leg swelled up 3 times as big as my other leg. Finally went to the back and Dr said I had acute compartment syndrome and May have to take my leg off. Went for emergency surgery and luckily he didn’t have to take it off. Spent the next 6 days in that crap Hospital! Choose another Hospital. Getting a lawyer!

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is a joke! I'm high risk with diabetes let alone had 7 other miscarriages, around 10 weeks 4 days I started bleeding and it didn't want to stop they gave me a Rh shot which did stop it. Around 25 weeks I had severe pains that would come and go in August I was tested for group b it came back positive and when I ask about my results everything was made out to be fine. NOT. On 10/05 around 630 that night was the last time I felt my daughter move I was 31w3d with my past I was scared of losing my daughter, I went to work the next day and I felt that something was wrong I have a friend who works labor and delivery she knew when I walked in something was wrong I had not felt my daughter move in over 24hrs they put me on monitors done blood work then brought ultrasound tech in to check her they made a couple calls before taking my daughter she had a flatten umbilical cord that was causing very little oxygen get to her and they told me if I was transferred I would've lost her. They done an emergency c section to save my daughter then turned around after being gbs positive and not releasing my medical records to the other hospital I ended up with a really bad mrsa infection that almost killed me because they don't want to do their job right. All he wanted to do was mess with my Insulin and that was it. I will never forget that night all bc somc wanted to monitor her movements and heart rate instead of doing and ultrasound so if you want to save yourself and your baby go somewhere else this place is a complete joke I kid you not I'm lucky to be alive and so is my daughter!
