Graduated at the top of my class, with honors and veterans awards was one few to walk the stage with four certificates of recognition. I was a veteran who utilized the GI Bill and paid full wages.

The promise from the school to most students considering they don’t offerer you welding certs to get a job is that you have access to the campus as a previous student and as long as there is a open booth and you’re not a hindrance to the current students that you can have practice time prior to a aws test. Thats false as once you graduate now you are no longer allowed back to the campus and no extra weeks time beyond your course is offered. Failed promises to a $18,000 investment would never recommend a fellow veteran attend this school that’s coming from a 1st class petty officer. Don’t waste your GI Bill here!

Not worth it I attended a lil over a year ago and to this day I haven’t even gotten my diploma, they said they would send it over mail but never arrived and the numbers in their website leave you in voice mail, also the experience I had here was awful all the teacher did was teach the same lab for the 9 months I was there, I was promise to learn about panels, controls, residential and commercial and all I got out of it was how to wire an outlet, also none of the teachers have a teaching license and the one teacher that actually thought in the school got fire shortly after I started studying there, in all honesty stay away from this school all I got out of it was an apprentice lunches for which I’m now 18k in debt for

UPDATE: 11/19/2024
They reported to the VA that I dropped out of school before the month of October ended on the 31st. When I asked the Va about it they said the school had to fix this. When I asked the school I got no reply since I want it in writing. When I asked the teacher for my log in records he claimed that he didn’t have access to the sign in sheets anymore. Thankfully there are GOOD people that attend the school. A student simply asked for the documents the teacher claims he no longer has access too and sent me a picture of it. So I have the proof that I was in school, I have proof these people are lying and pretending that none of this is happening. I have the emails that I keep sending but no one is answering. Do not attend this school unless you want to learn by YouTube, be stolen from and lied to at every turn and then made out to be the bad guy for noticing.

After asking for all farther communication to be recorded they have ceased communication entirely. Still trying to grade my assignments as if I’m in class. They know EXACTLY what they are doing.

THE SCHOOL DOES NOT TELL YOU HOW THEY USE UP MORE OF YOUR BENEFIT THEN YOU WOULD THINK.

I started the school in August with 15 months of benefits. Just about every veteran I've been in class or training with understands that if a course is 9 months long. We get housing paid for 9 months and school paid for. After the program is over, you will have 6 months left.

Well here at SUMMIT! They charge you 9 up front and then an additional 6 one month at a time.

One veteran I'm in class with started the program a month ago and has used up 5 months of benefits already. He was completely unaware and now unsure of his future here.

When I asked Summit College about it I was told that they weren't aware of how things worked and that they just send information to "someone that works with the va" and that's it. Someone reached out to me to explain how they USED 9 MONTHS IN THE FIRST 3 MONTHS of school. They then use another 6 to pay out housing. When I asked them to stop using my benefits since the school was paid off in the first 3 months already, I got a deer in the headlight look. I proceeded to say I MAY drop out if I have to continue using benefits and was met with an excited, "Okay! I'll send the email now to confirm but sounds good" basically seems like they don't care if you drop out because they already charged you for the 9 months up front so if you leave they can just fill the chair with another unaware veteran thinking he's made the right choice. Sad to see that veterans get taken advantage of. I understand it's too late for me but please, ASK ABOUT THIS BEFORE YOU SIGN UP.

Please be careful veterans. Don't lose your benefits unknowingly.

Do not attend this school for the Electrician program. It seems temping because you can complete the course in 9 months and start working but it is not worth it. The teachers barely have any field experience and they don't understand the trade or how to teach it. Not mention they are constantly switching out “instructors.“ There is nothing this class has to offer that you can't learn on your own online. Also, some employers do not consider this to be a real education and the Electrical Trainee card they promise you after 2 months takes them forever to get for you (I had to wait 9 months). They say they help you with job placement but they only find low paying jobs. Compared to an apprenticeship, this is a complete waste of time/money and an apprenticeship is worth the wait. Myself and a majority of my classmates at the time feel this way. Just trying to save someone else from going through what I went through since I dont see a lot of people talking about the electrical program.

My experience in the electrical program has mix feeling. In the beginning course you do learn some electrical work but with the current instructor it's very rare. It wasn't till I moved to the advanced course with Sebastian that I started to understand electrical work. He offers students extra help if needed even if you already graduated. Because of his teaching I was able to leave school confident in myself to work in the trade.

The front office staff and instructors are amazing. I’ve been in the welding program for a few months as well as working as a work study and the environment is nothing but positive and helpful. It’s a very hands on program, the instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and ready to assist when you have questions or want a demonstration. The admission reps strive to be as supportive as possible to walk students through the on boarding process, while also being so friendly and encouraging. Great place to learn a trade, would highly recommend.

So am I currently taking the electrical program and after completing 6 months its been going pretty well once we switched over to the advanced classes as the teacher puts more effort than the one before. I have learned things I wouldnt have on my own and always gives us good points on what we can improve. Sebastian is a honest instructor that if you pay attention youll actually learn things. Even with these bad reviews I went on my own experience and rate it good ! I cant wait to start working in the field ! -- Current Student

The school experience has been great. The teachers are well versed and help out with whatever you need and do fantastic demos. Maria from admissions has been a huuuuuge help! Best in admissions! Highly recommend the welding program at this school.
