probably my favorite skate shop in LA right now for a few reasons. First the new owner is a really good skateboarder, grew up locally, and he is always at the CV park hyping people up. Second, he's super connected with the pros and different companies in the space so he has hook ups for pretty much every brand. I think him being a true skateboarder has made it so that he carries everything instead of just the options that are more corporate store would have. Last he has created a really cool vibe that is a lot more welcoming than the typical shop in my 23 years of skateboarding experience. A lot of the shops that are not as corporate have a really snobby intimidating vibe, but this was totally different. I went into buy a deck (8.3-8.5 in width) after breaking one at a local park. He had so many options from companies I really like (Girl, Enjoi, Real/Krooked/Anti-hero), as well as newer independent brands (pizza, leap, etc) some of which hadn't even heard of yet. it took me over an hour to pick because i was so hyped and he let me try all of them out. He also had a bunch of cool little tchotchkes that I considered buying for my friends in the skateboarding community given that it's the holiday season right now. we had a great chat about skateboarding, surfing and life in general. overall, I would say that the spot is good for a skateboard of any level because of the inventory and the vibe. I do want to point out that the current owner seems to have bought the shop a little while ago (I think less than a year) which might explain the negative reviews from years prior. The shop as it is today is 100% worth a drive and I'll definitely be back next time I buy a board. Glad the spot is open with new ownership and that the new owner is such a rad guy!!

Sunland skate shop is the best! New owners are honest and down to earth people. Sale associates are friendly and knowledgeable. Store is clean. Great selection and inventory. I’m always happy with my experience when purchasing from Sunland Skate shop!

Awesome shop. I really like the new owners. They’ve got classes and summer camps and even a section where they sell used vans etc for cheap!

Sunland Skate has been one of my long time resources for my out of control shoe addiction. Among other notable items they have to offer, a fair amount of classic re-pop 80’s- 90’s Metal Band T-shirts. The employees are always top notch, knowledgeable and ready to help. You can feel free to ask them questions they will most likely have an answer for you. Even undergoing a change in Ownership the new Stewards of the only skate shop in Sunland have made the great decision to keep the previous owners staff which, from a customers point of view made the transition seamless great work guys keep it up!

My son had deck and went to buy everything needed for it . The salesperson was professional showed me all the options . Also had all the parts installed , it was put together nicely. Only advice for the business is to put price tags , for the dads on a budget 😅😅. Overall great vibe to the shop .
