This rehab used to have a real, genuine atmosphere, but that’s long gone. The current executive director has turned it into nothing more than a funnel for his outpatient programs—clients aren’t treated as people in need of help, but as dollar signs. I know this firsthand because I worked there.

Instead of real recovery, the focus is on pushing people into outpatient services that he profits from, regardless of whether it’s in their best interest. If you’re looking for actual treatment, stay far away—sending someone here would be not just inappropriate, but outright harmful.

I would have given this place 4-5 stars up until yesterday. The clients end up running the place and staff does not intervene as necessary. The drama and chaos perpetuated by other clients wound up driving me to a breaking point. It was so disruptive that leaving was the only foreseeable resolution. The only good thing I can say is that most of the staff there does genuinely care about you getting better. They are there because they genuinely want to help you. However there needs to be better management of the drama and interpersonal issues. It could be a great place but that ruins it.

PS DO NOT BE SURPRISED IF WHAT YOU BRING INTO THIS FACILITY GOES MISSING!!!!! Multiple people including myself lost a # of items during intake.

This place has helped me twice now and I couldn't be more grateful to the staff for putting up with all of not just mine and everyone else's detoxing b.s . While also staying sobor and working on themselves. It isn't easy and I didn't make it easier in detox. Even at it's worst or an occasional hiccup in staff it handsdown better then all the rest. Thank you Dr. Gaurdiola , Chris Jorden ,The Kyle Twins, Cody, Joe ,Medical ,Tony and everyone else. Most of all a peer that has in my opinion rose above all others I went through IOP with Julias Mack. It was his patience and good attitude that shaped me back to reality and remember what I learned to do at the community built around Surest Path and GLRC. Thanks ..

Best Recovery Center I've been to. Not only do you learn the fundamentals of sud but if you truly want to change and want better, this can help you achieve that thru understanding your thinking process and how to correct it. But if you dnt put the work in, nothing will change as with anything in life. I did, and I'm just grateful I had the opportunity to do so. Thanks Surest Path.

Surest Path Recovery Center & Great Lakes Recovery Center is the best place in the whole state! All of the staff went through the program themselves so they have a deeper understanding of what us recovering addicts are going through and they are super supportive and helpful! This place has gave me the tools and opportunity to save my life and start fresh and for that I’m extremely grateful. Dr. G and his staff are doing something that is truly inspiring and helpful to a lot of people. The clients and staff have made me feel like I belong both at Surest Path and at Great Lakes. I am extremely grateful to have got this chance to experience this. I highly recommend anyone who wants to get clean to look into Surest Path and Great Lakes. I’ve changed so much, I’ve finally found myself and who I am, and I’ve learned and continue to learn the skills I need to stay on the path of recovery. I can’t express how grateful and inspired I am because of this experience. 100 out of 10 for sure. They go above and beyond and they don’t care about money they truly care about each and every client and their success in sobriety and in life. I thank God he led me here as my life is forever changed for the better!

By far the best treatment center I have been too. This program will change your life and how you think. It focuses on the thought processes related to SUD and better ways to process day to day life. This place is a hidden gem that will give you a life, not worth throwing away. I can't speak enough about the staff and education received through the path. There is a lot of roads to recovery, this is the path I choose to follow.
