I am very disappointed in sylvan. I have used them twice for two different children. I paid for 100 hours and my daughter was going 4 days a week. According to Sylvan she has (4) excused absences and she has lost those 4 hours, because apparently she was suppose to make them up within the month. I was communicating with Sylvan and I stated we could make up on Friday, I was told the facility it’s closed on that day. So I responded with we will have to extend her last day, no one ever told me that wasn’t possible and she would just lose the hours. As much as we all pay for this service, this shouldn’t even be thought of to do to the children or the parents. I’m not sure if it’s just us receiving this kind of treatment. But everyone works hard for their money, and if you’re not keeping up with the hours they will cheat you or just take them for you. I was going to use them again when school started, but now I see it’s not about helping the children, it’s about making a profit and cheating the parents the best way you know how!!!!! PLEASE BE AWARE of this!!!

This place is awesome! My granddaughter has made tremendous strides in the 2 years she's been here. She was more than 2 years behind in math and now she is on grade level. The staff is amazing, caring, and truly committed to helping children succeed.

My boys started Sylvan Learning Center in February 2015. My husband I felt that they needed more assistance when it came to Reading, especially our youngest son. After two months of attending Sylvan, my youngest child's teacher informed me that she had noticed a tremendous improvement in our son. She saw more confidence in him, not only did his Reading grades improved tremendously, ALL of his grades were improving. His teacher also informed me that my child went up 32 point on his Reading standardized testing. My oldest son is doing extremely well! My husband and I feel that with Sylvan Learning Center, along with our assistance as parents contributing to his education as well, that he is now ready for his first year of Middle School! I recommend anyone who has a child that is struggling to utilize the services that Sylvan Learning Center provides. As parents we have to do our part as well and be a team with Sylvan in order for the successful outcome of our children's education.

We have attended over a year so far with 2 children. The kids love the reward system and it helps push them to try their hardest. The teachers are kind and courteous, but firm. Whenever we have had small issues, the staff is quick to handle and always professional. We are pleased with our kids results and have committed to another 6 months of courses. It is also worth mentioning that during COVID restrictions, this place did not waiver a bit on their commitment to keep our kids safe.

Sylvan has worked with our kids for over a year now. All the staff is very compassionate and caring. The director and her staff meet with me regularly to give me updates on how the kids are doing . They really take the time to answer my questions. The teachers are amazing. Their love for kids and teaching really shows. We have been very pleased with our experience with Sylvan and we can see the academic benefits.

The folks at Sylvan here in Augusta are fantastic. They actively partnered with our family to help our kids learn study skills, reading/writing and math at various times during their schooling. We first encountered them for helping our oldest child with study skills and organization when he was in the 6th grade. This helped tremendously! We returned a couple of years later to help this same child with reading/writing skills and also to help him prepare for for the SAT/ACT. Again, their help was priceless. They also offered suggestions for outside resources on the web for extra practice. They held regular conferences to keep us updated on progress. They partnered with us to help maximize our child's academic success. I would highly recommend using Sylvan at this location!

After our grandchild was tested and we were provided with feedback as to where she placed in her reading skills I was shocked as to how much she was lacking. Sylvan promised to help improve our grandchild's reading skills as much as possible and have our grandchild on or very near the reading skills level needed in order to advance to the second grade. Our grandchild began the Sylvan program in February of this year with each session with one instructor to 2 children ratio and occasionally 1:1 instruction but never more than 1:2 ratio. Since then our grandchild has advanced from reading 15 words a minute to 40 plus words a minute within less than 3 months, no longer whines when we say it's time to read a book and even reads a book in the car now. Sylvan has truly helped our grandchild not only with improving reading skills but also building self-confidence and self-motivation. I would highly recommend Sylvan to any parent, grandparent or guardian who has a child that needs that little bit of extra help in reading, math, etc.
