Thank you Sylvan! Several months ago we started tutoring at Sylvan, and I only have positive feedback to give about our experience. Our daughter is already involved in a lot of activities yet we wanted to supplement her learning with additional tutoring without having additional learning assignments — Sylvan Learning fits the bill.

1. Our daughter looks SUPER FORWARD to going each and every week. The positive reward system they use is excellent.
2. The atmosphere is very positive - the teachers are kind and friendly.
3. There is NO outside homework - very big plus for us not wanting to add an additional burden of more homework.
4. The administrative staff are super helpful, and meet with us monthly to go over our daughter’s progress and learning goals in great detail.
5. This program is evidence based, and they use solid metrics to define progress and set new and measurable leaning goals.

In sum, if you are looking for convenient tutoring to help fill in learning gaps or supplement your child’s academic achievement, I would highly recommend Sylvan Learning!!

I highly recommend this Sylvan location! I enrolled both of my kids in the summer session, and Josh made the experience incredibly fun. My daughter practiced math over the summer, and now that she's back in school, she finds her math class a breeze.

I highly recommend Sylvan Learning of El Segundo. Ms. Liz has been instrumental in helping my son. She explains well and he is able to adapt easily thanks to her. Mr. Josh is so welcoming and very kind. My son loves going to this center, it is a beautiful learning environment.

Our daughter used to hate readying and while she was an OK reader, she had serious problem with reading comprehension. We signed her up at Sylvan El Segundo and after ONE session her whole attitude towards reading changed: She is looking forward to her tutoring sessions, she is reading on her iPad on her own and she started scoring A+ on her reading comprehension! The Sylvan tutors are excellent at what they do. I couldn’t recommend them enough!

Sylvan Learning Center of El Segundo has a been a great addition to our family activities. Our family is constantly finding ways to supplement our children's education or to help them strengthen their skills. Sylvan has been able to meet the needs of each child we have attending in a fun and encouraging way. My children love earning points for their hardwork and shopping at the "Sylvan Store." Sylvan has a plan for a variety of subjects. With time and consistency, you will see results. I only wish that the Sylvan Center was open on Fridays and open for more hours on the weekends so my boys could attend more often.

My son 9, who's finishing up 3rd grade has been going to Sylvan all year to supplement his academic success in a public elementary school. As two working parents we've been constrained with supporting him with homework, as well as topics like writing, reading, and math consistently. Sylvan gives us an opportunity to give him consistent academic support; they do a good job of proactively setting up time with us to check in and show his progress report as well as seek to understand areas / topics where we'd like for them to support him in. I think the Sylvan environment gives him the real time practice/feedback that he needs to build confidence in certain topics - and with patience where my husband and I do not have with him. They recently opened the new facility in El Segundo which makes it much more convenient for us to send him to and we're looking forward to sending him over the summer to so as to limit as much as the 'summer slide' as possible.

Our son made me tear up the other day when he said, "Mom, thank you for signing me up at Sylvan of El Segundo. The teachers are so nice and it's already helping me write better at school."
That was the first time he ever thanked me for any extra-curricular activity we had signed up for.
I am truly amazed at how significant the impacts of the few lessons he had had so far, and for him to realize the difference himself, is just nothing shy of pure solid gold.
Sylvan's writing sessions are so well organized and well structured, that they make it easier for younger children to understand, follow and remember. Which means that they can take what they've learned, and more importantly, apply it to their schoolwork, helping them improve their writing skills. With so many writing assignments and a ton of future essays and reports to look forward to, we are so happy and grateful to the staff at Sylvan Learning of El Segundo for teaching our son.
