My 9-year-old child has been going to Sylvan Sherman Oaks for almost two years now! I am so happy with the team of teachers and what they have done to help my girl catch up, then advance with her schooling. My 11-year-old child also goes and has advanced his math skills so he will be ready for middle school next week. Both of the children are finding the rewards from going to tutoring at Sylvan, better grades and higher self-esteem to name a couple of advances for them. I have referred many friends and let them know how pleased I have been with both my children's progress.

My daughter enjoys going to Sylvan very much. She now looks forward to doing homework and even accepts optional work to bring home. We love how she is gaining her confidence back. She always talks very positive about how her session went, and is very excited about the tokens she gains after every session. This review is for the Sherman oaks location: Amazing!!! Love the staff! They have help my child not only with reading but also with his confidence. My son has had tutoring before somewhere else and always complains about going. At sylvan he gets ready and just goes no problem. I love the fact that he doesn’t come back with “homework” because as we know it’s hard as it is with distant learning. They make sure he learns it right the first time, no need to redo. They are very organized. The fact that my son really likes it there makes it worth every penny!!!

My two daughters have been attending Sylvan for about six months now, and we couldn’t be happier. Their reading skills have improved dramatically. My youngest, especially, has not only increased her comprehension skills but also her confidence. From the parent perspective, it’s super easy to communicate about scheduling, make up classes, progress, etc. Anyone whose child is struggling or even at grade level will find benefits from the program.

Reading this post I made before my daughter was there more than a week makes me so angry. In the beginning, I thought this was so amazing. The staff was so friendly and helpful. That all changed when I wanted to cancel. I was no longer able to bring her as often as my work schedule had changed. As a single mom, I thought, "Of course they will understand." Boy, was I wrong. Communication was completely distorted. They couldn't recall any of the conversations by phone of canceled appointments. Overall, I stopped taking my daughter there. I would not recommend nor return to any sylvan, especially studio city.

Sylvan is such a great program. The program itself is excellent and very comprehensive and the tutors there are all so caring and responsive. When necessary, they go above and beyond to customize the program to a child’s learning style/ability and we’ve really enjoyed watching our child thrive.
