I got a dog from the shelter in Divide. Her name is Pooka. I was going to get another dog but this girl at the animal shelter help me get Pooka and she has been a big support to me and I just got her on Sunday. She’s well behaved she gets along with my cats we’re learning to live together we’re getting tricks done and everything else. She’s a wonderful dog and I want to thank them personally for everything they’ve done for me all the girls there were wonderful and they deserve 100% kudos A+. Thank you.

I cannot say enough good things about Teller County Regional Animal Shelter (TCRAS)! The staff are incredibly caring and dedicated to the well-being of the dogs (and cats). One of the standout features of this shelter is their 'Doggy Day Out' program, which is simply fantastic. It allows you to take a dog out for the day, giving them a break from shelter life and a taste of love and adventure.

Doggy Day Out not only benefits the dogs, but it was fantastic for us too. It's a win-win! Our pup was not miserable when we brought her back to TCRAS after the hike, which shows that they truly go above and beyond to ensure the dogs are happy and healthy.

If you are looking for company on your next adventure and want to make a difference, check out TCRAS.

I adopted a new dog yesterday, her name is Izzy for now but it's yet to be determined if it truly fits her or not. But she has been an absolute joy to have with me! The adoption process at tcras was a very enjoyable experience as always! I went in with a couple different dogs in mind that I thought sounded like they were going to be great additions to my life, and to my disappointment at first the first 3 furry littles I had wanted to meet had all been adopted just before I showed up! I was assured that they all went to very loving homes with some great families! The nice ladies at tcras had been doing a great job all morning and they didn't stop when I got there! They introduced me to a few of the other furry little friends, I'm so happy that I met Izzy instead! She is just perfect for me! It was love at first introduction for me! Although I wish I could take them all home! I think Izzy needed me as much as I needed her! Izzy is the 4th fur baby that I've had the pleasure to rescue from tcras and I have always had a very good experience with them there! 1st time was with my own "big girl" Stella who I had and loved for almost 8 years, and then with an old friend who adopted her hàrold from them, my little sister who I surprised her with her now best friend coco, and finally my new bestie Izzy who I met yesterday! Thanks for all you guys do! And for all the great supplies that you gave Izzy to come home with! She loves her Santa toy and the brushes the most. And I love the mud buster and treat mat the most! Oh and her blanket and dog bed are going to be well used also! She is settling in very well and seems to really love her new place! If your looking for a new furry friend and are able to make it out to divide Colorado then tcras is the first place, and maybe even the ONLY place I would go to find a new furry baby to add to my family! Just ask for Libby and she will get all set up with a perfect match for you and your family too! Thank you ladies again for another great experience!

TCRAS is a limited intake shelter which makes every effort to afford every animal they care for an opportunity to find their forever home. They go to lengths above and beyond to ensure every pet has the chance to live their life. We have 4 cats from them, all of which have unique personalities and characteristics which we love. Almost every cat we have adopted has gone through some traumatic event (before coming to TCRAS) that would have been easy to walk away or put them down as a solution. Because of the tireless work of the TCRAS employees and volunteers, they are permanently a part of our family and living happy lives. If you are looking for your next life long companion, start here.
