We visited the museum during the weekend and were so impressed by the collection. We moved from Cuyahoga county and enjoyed our trips to the Cleveland Museum of Art and wanted to explore the Butler Institute of American Art, it is a gem! The art is beautiful and I really enjoyed our visit so much, we spent about 2 hrs exploring each level, so many wonderful paintings displayed beautifully. The church nextdoor being converted into more areas to display the bird wood carvings and the carousel carvings was amazing.
We plan to return when the new installation is ready to view it as well.

This museum is amazing. It is definitely worth a visit. So many different genres and multiple levels to explore. Allow yourself at least 2 hours if you want to enjoy the experience. There are two gift shops. Off street parking and close to many restaurants.

Such an incredible collection of artwork including “Snap the Whip” and “Lincoln the Rail Splitter”. Truly an amazing place with free admission. The posted picture is a figure created by the shadow of the metal work!
