Helpful at times but not at others. When I had a case with them in the late 2010s, this place was extremely helpful. The person who was assigned to my case made me feel safe and cared for, frequently checked-in on me and informed me of all of the options I had available to me.

I had another incident years later and it's hard to be believe this was even the same place. They lost my paperwork more than once. There were multiple incidents when an advocate would assure me they would follow up with me but wouldn't. It almost felt like I was being abandoned and even my therapist said "I'm surprised that they are leaving you in the dark like this." I understand that they might just be more swamped now than before and that perhaps there is a high turnover rate. However some of this does just come down to organizational skills and how different staff are trained. Different staff members would give me different answers about what resources were available to me and which weren't which was confusing. When I would inquire about resources other than solely emotional support, it felt like were just trying to push me toward therapy (even though I was already seeing one). It felt like code-word for "be someone else's problem"

This is a very poor program. They are discriminating against black and low income white individuals and catering to immigrant and Spanish women and families as it pertains to resources and actually helping the individuals that they serve.

Their shelters are unsanitary, their staff is disengaging and they look down on their clients. They set people up and make false allegations in order to discharge them from the program and not use the grant money that was given to them in order to help the community. The Chief Program Officer is despicable and directly instructs her management to run the programs this way. NO FOOD IN THE PROGRAM FOR HOMELESS WOMEN AND CHILDREN. Kayte will do anything to not spend any money to ensure that the program is being maintained and executed sufficiently. My experience in non profit funding and grants investigates that this is so that she can line her own pockets with untaxed bonuses.

With pure love, generosity & courage, the center for family justice not only saves lives, they actually help you heal and get back on track. They have a deep clear understanding of the signs, effects and dangerous patterns in the insidious cycle of abuse. My family and I are eternally grateful for the services we have received.
