My wife and I visited and talked with the assistant director Amanda a couple times before we brought our son in to meet her and as well the teachers. All those visits were amazing because we had that instant vibe and trust about the school that our son could thrive in and would be well taken care of. However, that trust was immediately broken just after the free trail day Goddard offered before we enrolled him.

First of all, we thought that it’s amazing that Goddard offered a trial day to give our 1 year old son the experience at a day care. But if you’re going to offer a trial day, you better put your best foot forward and Goddard did not

The first issue we had was the nap situation. Goddard asked us to provide a schedule for our son for when he takes his meals, naps, etc. and they would do their best to try to follow that schedule. It seems as though our son missed his first morning nap and he took his nap on one of the teachers which is totally fine. But the issue is that they didn’t even try to put him in the crib for his nap. The reason we know is that through out the day teachers texted us pictures of our son doing different activities throughout the morning with time stamps and when my wife called the school to see if he took his morning nap, the teacher said he took a 30 min nap in the crib. However, when I picked my son up at the end of the day the teacher asked me “does your son sleep on his own in a bed?” You would not even need to ask me that if he slept for 30 min in the crib.

The 2nd issue is the teachers did not give any water to our son throughout the day. On our schedule, that they specifically asked us for, we stated that they offer his water sippy cup throughout the day and with his meals. When we asked the teacher, miss Joanne, she admitted that they did not give him water. They only gave him his two 5 oz whole milk sippy cups to him with his meals. Those were to only to be given to him at snack time. It’s just mind boggling that our son went for a whole day without any water and it was just sitting in the refrigerator.

The bottom line is that they didn’t even want to read the schedule at all and when we called the school to express our concern, there was no apology or any empathy at all. Which is why we could never trust Goddard with our son. It’s such a shame because we felt so good about them at first but just a true disappointment.

I encourage any parent who is looking for quality childcare to look elsewhere. The “Annex” for older children, located at King’s Point Church, is a single room that has far too many children for its small size, as it doubles as both a kindergarten and before/after school space, with younger 5-6yo and older 10-12yo children crammed into the same small room. When playing outside, there is a dilapidated parking lot for outdoor play that is full of potholes; there is no safe, fenced-in area for the children to play, and cars actively use the same parking lot for pickup and dropoff. The outdoor playset is also dilapidated and unsafe for use by the children, yet it remains on the property. While I have no complaints against the individual teachers and many of them are excellent, they are clearly doing the best they can with the limited resources available to them. My son has been injured multiple times due to these issues, for which I’ve signed incident reports.

Review disclaimer: Both of my children have attended Goddard at different times and in varying capacities since 2022; the first time was with myself as a paying customer, and the second time was when my children’s mother worked there. I have never worked for Goddard as the owner response misleadingly and dishonestly states. I likewise will also not publicly address the toxic workplace aspects that the owner response refers to.

My daughter really loves being at The Goddard School of South Lebanon. She has been enrolled long enough to transition through four classrooms! They do tons of unique projects that have a specific focus on educational elements, up to and including emotional education. Every step of the way has been a very pleasant experience for her and I. Excellent staff, facilities, curriculum, and communication.

Disappointed for a number of a reasons. First, in the infant room no one took off their shoes which is a standard at every other preschool we’ve talked to and attended. It makes the floor disgusting for the babies that are crawling on it and putting their hands in their mouths. Second, one of my first times there in the infant room they had kids sitting at a table eating and dropping crumbs with another child under the table eating the crumbs that were dropped on the floor. Third, frequently when I picked up my other child from another room the teacher had an iPad playing on top of the coat rack so all the children had their necks cranked back trying to watch a tiny screen (not to mention, why is screen time allowed?). Fourth, it seems like the mandatory teacher to child ratio isn’t enforced. Some of the teachers tried and were very kind but seemed like they didn’t have the needed support.

My daughter has attended Goddard for 2.5 years now and continues to flourish. I love that the teachers and staff meet my daughter where she is academically, especially in their Pre-K program.
The staff is so friendly, the facilities are clean, and the school offers so many activities and enrichments.
