The staff shows genuine compassion, though it’s evident that financial considerations often take precedence. While they must adhere to rigid corporate guidelines, it’s inspiring to imagine what they could accomplish if unencumbered by these constraints.

After all, this is a treatment center for individuals overcoming addiction—a sanctuary for healing, not merely a business venture.

It offers a safe haven to rest and begin the arduous yet transformative journey toward recovery. While it may not be the most outstanding program in the state, it is far from the worst. I am sincerely grateful for the care and support I received during my time here.

Best self-care decision I have made in my 53 years of life. 2.5 years and still alcohol free! It was made amazing by the incredible staff/counselors/medical team. Perfect setting and comfort options. I expected (1st/only inpatient rehab stint) to be walking into a scary lockdown type place and I could not have been more wrong. Their trauma program changed my life for the best. I recommend it to anyone struggling. I am indebted to this place for always. Should I ever find myself with substance abuse issues in the future I will be immediately head back to PLR.

I assure you if you love this place you’re the one putting in the work. The QMAP staff and nursing has single handedly ruined my stay here. They won’t allow you to advocate for yourself and if you try, you’ll end up being on a contract that takes away any incentive to be in recovery. The BHT staff is super inconsistent and it seems like between the QMAP and BHTs they need to find replacements for some staff who think that they have power over your basic rights. They have refused a requested med change, put me on contracts for walking away from disrespectful staff, had staff talk about me behind my back, and I’ve had to change therapists because my therapist implied I was stupid and I had no reason to be here. Some of the group therapists have an ego and they don’t go above and beyond to make sure everyone is respectful. The food is a 70/100 at the best. They have stopped allowing me to access my nicotine lozenges and quit smoking. The cafeteria is often gross and I’ve had to clean it multiple times, the rooms are often filthy and the facility needs renovations. I’ve done everything in my power to not be rude and leave an honest review because I know that there are worse rehabs but I’m beyond fed up with my experience and the way I’ve been treated at this facility. I would recommend finding somewhere else to start your recovery journey.

Great staff, they take a more progressive and all encompassing approach than the standard 12 step programs. The bio/social/psycho view touches on the three major aspects of recovery. Highly recommend.

I decided to get sober for the first time in my life, at age 47. I spent 5wks at PLR, and have been sober for 2yrs & 3mos today 🙂
I still speak with a number of new found friends in recovery from PLR, and none of this would have been posisble with the wonderful staff, doctors, pshche team and members of our cohort.

PLR is a wonderful example of a rehab that uses therapy to address the underlying issues. The team of therapists there tackle the traumas that CAUSED our substance use rather than just focusing on the fact that we use. Highly recommend, if you can afford it.
