Our 4th grader just finished 87 hours of one on one tutoring to help her get on track with reading. Little backstory - we've homeschooled since 1st grade. Reading and spelling has been a hard struggle since the start - so much so that it was a daily fight to do any schoolwork and many breakdowns for her when it came time to reading of any sort. She started this year more than a year behind on her reading level.

But after tutoring...I can proudly say she is finally reading at grade level. And the breakdowns are no more. She still isn't a fan of school, but at least now she will do it without a fight. Her confidence with reading has exploded and she willingly reads, even outside of schoolwork. That confidence has expanded to other areas as well - her spelling has improved, her writing has also seen growth and overall she just seems happier, more confident.

I can say without a doubt that the help she got with Turning Leaf is why. Every step through this long process has been handled with professionalism, compassion, love for learning and the children they serve. Every interaction I have had has been pleasant, and I can tell the teachers truly care for the kids they help. Once upon a time our daughter hated meeting new people and participating in group classes. Now she is adamant that she wants to continue going and even wants to sign up for a group writing class.

Is it expensive? You betcha. Does it take up a lot of time? Yep. Is it worth it? Abso-freaking-lutely. The confidence our daughter has gained and curiosity to learn and grow is worth 1000x what we have paid. My only regret? We should have started this journey earlier!

Do this now, do not wait! That is the advice I would give to anybody thinking about going here. I thank the stars above I found this place for my boys. Both my boys had different needs. My oldest was struggling and behind when he started, and after intensive work from him and Kim at Turning Leaf, not only did he catch up, but he excelled!! My youngest was just a little guy who wanted to learn to read, he had the desire and Turning Leaf had the tools. Mrs.Noble and Kim worked with him and now he is grades ahead, and has a love of books.

My child has struggled with spelling/phonics issues for several years. This issue has not allowed him to academically perform at his maximum potential. He has been evaluated by multiple professionals throughout the United States but the underlying issue could never be identified. It is so difficult for a parent to hear "Your child will just have to live with it!" Watching my child pour his heart and soul into his school work and always come up short has been heartbreaking for me. The Turning Leaf staff not only identified the issue but assured me they could help my son. He has received intensive intervention for just over three months. His self-confidence and abilities to spell have soared. This intervention was been invaluable. Thank you Turning Leaf staff for contributing to my child's academic success!
