Our daughter, a rising 4th grader, has been going to Tutoring Club for math help since January. The assessment the center did prior to tutoring was so helpful in identifying where she needed extra help. We have seen her progress in leaps and bounds, both in her confidence at doing her math work and in standardized tests. She loves going to Tutoring Club, all of the tutors are fantastic and the small group instruction has been so valuable.

Our daughter was struggling with reading and the last thing we wanted was to impact her desire and confidence to learn. So we went to the Tutoring Club. She has thrived since then. Most importantly, she enjoys going to tutoring and the tutors have reinforced that she she is smart and able. I could not recommend this center enough, from the tutors to the staff that have been responsive to every question this Momma Bear has. They have coordinated with my daughter's school to make sure their program is aligned with her curriculum. That is above and beyond.

My daughter has been attending Tutoring Club for 2 years now. I am always impressed by the level of attentiveness she has been given by her tutors. I also appreciate how responsive Michelle, the owner, and her team of coordinators has always treated us. The one regret I have about Tutoring Club of Mclean is not finding it sooner! From the beginning, my son received a personal plan to improve his study habit and organizational skills. He took the SAT/ACT prep course at the club, raised his score, and received multiple merit scholarships from colleges he applied to. In addition to tutors for specific subject, every student is assigned with a specific student success coach in the club and we absolutely love her! I would recommend Tutoring Club of Mclean to anyone and plan to go back for help for my daughter when and if the time comes.

Amber helped us with college counseling. She did a great job of guiding our daughter (and us) and putting everyone at ease. She's very knowledgeable, knows the requirements and deadlines, helps manage expectations around reach/target schools, and more. Are you the parent of a child who has suffered some serious COVID-related setbacks I am and I was very frustrated and lost before finding Tutoring Club of McLean! Katherine performed a thorough diagnostic of my third grade son and helped us to create a plan to strengthen his reading and writing skills. Fast forward a couple of months and this program is paying dividends. We’ve seen major improvements in his scores and confidence at school.

In addition, my son was having trouble completing his assignments (he’d just leave tons of unsubmitted drafts in Canvas) so we added a few hours of “school support” each week to his regimen and we’re glad we did. No more missing assignments.

Lastly SOLs are this month and we felt the need to brush up on fundamentals by having Tutoring Club drill him in reading and math. As a result, he went into his SOLs very confident!

Tutoring Club has been very flexible with us as we’ve needed to rearrange our schedule multiple times to fit in hybrid (back-to-school) and extracurriculars. Oriana is great and always makes the schedule work! Tutoring staff is awesome - Mitch, Lauren, Matt, Kate, Sam, Laken, etc. Can’t go wrong with any of the tutoring staff.

Speaking of which *pro-tip* buy as many hours as you can afford. They are cheaper in bulk and trust me you will use them and you’ll be thankful you did! Best luck of luck parents!

The Tutoring Club helped my daughter increase her ACT score by over 22% !! They also helped her through a difficult year of High School Chemistry. They are very flexible and supportive. I would highly recommended them!

Last summer we started our two children at the Tutoring Club. Our oldest child's 6th grade teacher suggested he get some summer help to skip a year of math and enroll in Honors 7 at LMS. With the help of the Tutoring club he was able to work on his math skills last summer. He was not eligible to start in Honors 7 because his SOL scores were 2 points away from where he needed to be. He completed 1 semester in regular math where he was getting straight A's and was bored so his teacher promoted him to Honors 7. He ended the year with a B+. He was able to bring homework to the club when he needed an extra explanation of the materials which helped him tremendously.
My other son was enrolled for Reading comprehension due to the drop in his SOL scores from 4th to 5th grade by 100 points. His 5th grade teacher was not the best and he didn't learned much in 5th grade from her. He started 6th grade with a 2 in Reading Comprehension in the first quarter, raised it to a 3 in the 2nd quarter and for the 3&4th quarters got a 4. The tutoring club has taught him many strategies in how to read with comprehension and answer questions by the process of elimination.
This summer my children are working on their writing skills which is another area that most kids need additional instruction on since teachers can't individually help all students.
We have been more than happy with the Tutoring Club and the help our children have received from all the wonderful tutors they have on staff.
