My daughter has ASD/ADHD and a learning difference. Which has caused her great distress. She was reading at a kindergarten/first grade level at 14. She started tutoring works in January, doing the Wilson program. Her reading has greatly improved and is making progress. The most encouraging part is how much she enjoys going to tutoring works. She said Zena a the best teacher she ever had. We have also worked with Renee, who is excellent as well. My daughter ‘told me she wants more tutoring lessons with Zena for Christmas!

The building is clean, well cared for to facilitate a conducive leaning environment. (They do have virtual but my daughter does better in person.)
I have also spoken to other parents while waiting, and they expressed how satisfied they have been with tutoring works and in some cases driving a considerable amount time to get there.

We ate so happy we found tutoring works.

Not sure I have enough meaningful words to get the point across on the impact Mrs. Zena has made on our lives but "life changing", "forever" &" "immeasurable" come to mind. My children have not only gained the ability to read, comprehend & decode at grade level but have gained confidence, advocacy skills, self awareness, grace & a friendship they'll never find anywhere else. Not knowing yet if the Wilson Reading program would be a fit or not as we had tried many reading supports, I as a parent immediately felt so much trust & confidence in Zena the moment I met her. I knew my kids were in good hands. Zena exudes kindness, patience, & ideas. Zena puts her all into everything she does here. Every teacher we have met here is amazing. I know that the time my children spent with Mrs. Zena at Tutoring Works will carry into everything they do going forward & I will be forever grateful to Zena.

I have seen such an improvement in her reading even after less than a year. Zena is always flexible in scheduling out times and is such a wonderful teacher for my daughter. Its the gem of tutoring!! The ladies that work with my two boys are helpful, motived and give great feed back. Every week we discuss goals and lesson plans. Zena has set up an amazing social skills group for teenagers and young adults to learn in a safe setting how to feel more relaxed and capable in social situations. Tutoring-Works is not just helping a student in a particular class but also helps students become more comfortable around other people and in social situations. Zena spends time with each person in the group to get to know them and sees their strengths and weaknesses. Zena then blends a group of no more than 5 students into a group that works together for 6 weeks. She is always on top of the positive things the students bring to the group or the improvements they have made and in a positive supportive move she teaches them where they are weak without the group feeling like they received a real lesson. I drive my daughter almost 90 minutes weekly for this social group and it is worth every minute in the car. Tutoring-Works created a social group that my husband and I have been looking for a long time and are so grateful we found it with Zena at Tutoring-Works.
