I've done 4 degree programs from UMass and had a great experience in each one. I have a masters in counseling. This program prepared me extremely well for the practical side of being a therapist, as well as the licensing exam. I have needed to hire interns for my job, and hands down all the interns from UMass have been our top performers and most competent in their work. I am currently wrapping up my MBA, and have also had an excellent experience. What I have learned has been applicable to my career. My experience with financial aid has been no different than the 2 year colleges I attended. Sometimes it takes a few weeks to process. In my experience that is standard. It is online learning. You need to be motivated and organized in order to succeed. Do your reading, put full effort into your work, and if you need additional support be proactive in reaching out to your professors. Nobody is going to do your job for you; take control of your success. Online education isn't for everyone, and that is okay. However, if you do well in this environment I would recommend UMass every time.

UMASS has been so great to work with. My enrollment coach Dr.J has really gone above and beyond. My current undergrad program hasn’t made things easy for us, and I had a lot of misinformation and struggles for a while but Dr.J just stayed positive, was reassuring, and convinced me to just keep moving forward and that everything would work out. She was right. This program is my dream, and I can’t thank her enough for all the help and guidance, and the incredible responsiveness

I completely agree with the concerns raised here. My experience with UMass Global was disappointing, to say the least. The enrollment process was very stressful and the lack of transparency about fees, process of enrollment was frustrating—important details were buried or disclosed last minute. The "MyPath" program seemed designed to drag out progress with unnecessary short courses, and the feedback from professors was often generic and unhelpful.

Save yourself the time and money—research alternatives before committing. UMass Global might look affordable upfront, but it’s not worth the trade-off in quality.

They also canceled my app out of nowhere and weren’t willing the onboarding process was a pain in the you know what this week.

I am currently finishing up my degree in social work. I am so happy with my academic journey at UMG that I am going to further my education with them. This is an excellent university with outstanding academic support. The professors go above and beyond and truly care about the success of each student. From advising to onestop each staff member is kind and caring. They promptly return emails and answer all your questions. Great response to my inquiry by Ms. Limayri Garcia; she called me to inform me further in the next processes. Also, her conversation reassured about the potential avenue for masters in social work completion. I am just finishing my bachelors in social work, and I have been researching programs that would fit my busy schedule:)

Extremely dishonest commissioned salesman posing as legitimate admissions officers. Despite coming from an institution with an articulation agreement, UMass Global botched my transfer credit analysis. This resulted in almost half my transfer credit not transferring. This school is located in California where the laws are loose. It has nothing to do with Massachusetts.

Coaches and advisors won't help you and they will provide unclear, unhelpful answers on purpose, and their "MyPath" program is full of one/one and a half credits courses meant to slow you down. Most professors (with some notable exceptions) don't care about teaching or providing meaningful feedback, and several of them sport PhDs obtained at for-profit non-regionally accredited universities (that won't stop them from copying and pasting the same feedback over and over, assignment after assignment; the power of a meme degree, I guess). I'm glad I cut my losses and moved to another regionally accredited institution featuring a healthier, more student-friendly approach to education (and that is not a "Global" version of a mainstream university).

Do your research and you'll find better alternatives. $3,300 for 6 months access (plus other fees that they disclose at the very last minute) may sound like a bargain, but it definitely isn't.
