Great visitor center/gift shop with information about the Chugach National Forest. The ranger we spoke to there was friendly and knowledgeable and answered many of our questions about the salmon run. The salmon haven't started going up the creek behind this building quite yet, but they'll probably be there soon! You'll be able to see them really well in the creek once they do start. Highly recommend stopping by, especially if you have kids as they have tons of animal skulls and skins that you can touch as you learn about the local wildlife. There is also a nice waterfall in the back, along with the creek and viewing platform.

Great visit to this little cabin. The folks inside had a wealth of knowledge about the local area wildlife. The waterfall behind the cabin and the salmon pond out front were an added bonus to this must stop location.

We went searching for a geocach; we didn't find it. We did observe the waterfall and then the stinky fish.
We'll need to come again with grippier hiking shoes. I told my daughter that crocks and shorts are not appropriate for this trail.
We didn't spend much time indoors, but there was lots that we could have seen if we had chosen to.
