We had a private tour of the boyhood home and school. The volunteers we very knowledgeable. Answered questions. Friendly atmosphere. Very interesting history. We enjoyed the tour. They let the dog do the tour with us since it was hot outside. Isn’t that nice of them.

The tour of the house was great but what made it especially interesting was our guide, Lee. He shared a lot of not only, Ulysses’ history and personal life, but also his father Jessie’s life and work as well. We also visited the one room school house that Ulysses attended and Lee was our guide there also. Definitely worth your time to learn about some of the early influences of Grant’s life.

We stopped by on our way home from Maysville. Although the museum was closed when we arrived, we met a docent who lives nearby. She went out of her way to give us a tour, and even took us to the school house, several murals of Grant in town, and his statue. It was such a wonderful experience. Her knowledge is priceless and made the tour so much fun. Thank you for sharing your stories and making our day!

President Grant's boyhood home in Georgetown was the last stop in our road trip to SE Ohio Saturday and it did not disappoint. 1, it was open, amazing in itself, and 2, we had a wonderful tour conducted by a very well informed and friendly woman with Ohio History. Along with the walk around, there is a short monolog by an animated young Ulysses. Small fee. Beautiful house. Recommended.

Places only open durning summer. Very pretty area. I met one of the guids at burger king.. Very nice man told me all kinds of things. Hope you enjoy it.

Very nice home filled with period furniture. The tour guids were very knowledgeable and the Animatronic young Grant was a surprise and fun to see. If you are in the area, plan to stop in. Figure 60 to 90 minutes.
