DPS is without a doubt definitely one of the most valuable aspects of USC and the surrounding community. They make a HUGE difference. I'm with management for a student housing community. Not only do they welcome us into their weekly meetings but are open to any questions and give great tips, offer their support and give suggestions on maintaining a secure environment for not only our residents but the entire community in general.
Genesis in particular is one of the officers who comes by frequently and makes sure we aren't have any kind of security issues. Not only that Detetive kenneth had been a major help to us as well.
I feel every single DPS staff member cares and is willing to go above and beyond for the community.
We have had a few security issues in the past. Which is why I can honestly and objectively verify the difference it makes having DPS responders involved. Thanks to DPS patrol and the DPS staff I see a significant difference in any kind of security related issues we've encountered. Virtually 0 now. Thanks DPS!!

I'm really tired of these officers not doing nothing. I lived on scarff and they patrolled the area more than anything but over here on orchard between 27th and 29th I barely see them and because of this the students over here get away with anything. What is it going to take for yall to get this area under control. I'm so freaking tired of being woken up after 1am in the morning because these students have no sense or common courtesy. They're loud, arrogant, and privileged. I wish yall would get this area under control.

Absolutely awfull. USC is located in a very unsafe area. Me and me friends have had many times where we would get in fights with homeless people around campus because they would try to rob us, yet FPS was never there to help us. Meanwhile, they ban skateboards in the village because of a few accidents and try to enforce it as hard as they can. This just shows how inadequate their allocation of their resources is. The protection they provide is almost non existent and they only end up harming the students lives from our prespective.

On the weekend it is very important that you enter the campus through Entrance #5 (turn onto McClintock Ave from Jefferson Blvd), especially if you want to park in a parking structure. When you come in that gate, there is a kiosk where you can purchase a parking pass. Without a pass your car might get towed. If you do park without a pass, you can walk to the kiosk to purchase a pass and walk back to your car to put the pass on your dashboard. Or you can park in a metered space on the street.

I tried to explain my situation to PATRICE but she wouldn't wanna hear any of it. People who are there just to get paid and not do work really deserve to be homeless. I guess ill get robbed again or another student. Thanks PATRICE for making it "safe"
