My son is finished with Spanish II so I texted his tutor and let her know that he successfully completed his state exam. I also texted the Varsity reminder line in response to his session reminder. This was well over a week ago. When I registered my son for short-term assistance in Spanish II, I requested a monthly call or text to continue services. The AI Varsity line indicated I had to call Varsity Tutors. I called them today and sat on hold for 16 minutes before Wilben answered. I requested a refund of my sons three unused sessions and was declined. I asked if that credit could carry over to August for 10th grade Algebra II. He attempted to sell me on summer school, and I declined to punish my son with summer tutoring. Wilben indicated he had charged my card another $639 today. I requested he reverse that charge as my son is finished with Spanish II. He refused. He also refused to transfer me to a manager. Wilben said he would send me an email after he elevated the request. I find that interesting and contradictory, considering I was required to make a phone call. I then called back and spoke to Ashely, who began the same way as far as searching for a reason to keep my son in tutoring. She interrupted me in every other sentence and insisted that she knows what's best for my son. This woman told me statistics for the students across this country; never asking how my son was performing in school. I told her that her services were specifically for Spanish II and that my son was finished with the class. I told her he had all As and two high Bs otherwise. I would like to know what authority she or Wilben or anyone at Varsity tutors had over my son and what right they feel like they have to steal $639 from me. I reported the fraud to my credit card, and I am writing this review to let you all know to be very careful with your charges. Don't trust Varsity tutors financially.

Very rarely will I provide a review but I feel compelled to do so given my terrible experience with this organization. Buyer beware! We recently purchase a 1 month package for my daughter and the first session went terribly... The tutor had not taught before and reverted to creating small talk while she googled the answers and processes to solve. She had my daughter google answers as well. She was not knowledgeable about the topic whatsoever. It was a complete waste of money and time. When I called the next day to cancel my membership and request a partial refund, I was told it would have to be elevated and I should receive a call or email within a couple days. That never happened, and I was charged again the following month. I called again and again... no managers available to help. I still have not received a cancellation confirmation and still have not heard back from this company. I've called several times with no response. Had to get the bank involved. Very unprofessional organization.

I spent thousands of dollars with them. I had 10 hours left that I really needed to use. They stole that from me. They said I can’t have those 10 hours because they expired. Even though when I bought them, I was told that they never expire. I asked to speak to a supervisor regarding this. They said a supervisor would call me to discuss it. I’ve never received a call from the supervisor.

Varsity Tutors are absolute crooks. I paid for a package of four sessions, all of which I didn't even use. Two months later I discovered they had enrolled me in some subscription to the tune of $450 per month. As for the service, they don't have anyone who can teach college level courses so that wasn't any help either.

Very happy so far! My daughter struggled with Algebra and Physics last year, so we decided to get her some tutoring over the summer so she would be ready for the next level class in the fall. First the rep was super helpful to get me signed up with our states free tutoring for math. That was amazing. The Algebra tutor so far is great. My daughter enjoyed working with her very much. we have the math tutor starting today and I am optimistic for that as well. This program is so convenient and allows her to work on her problems while working with the tutor. Lots of times available and very easy to fit into our schedule. I am sure we will be signing up for more!

My tutor is very helpful and kind when I have questions. The app is perfect, loading my homework in is super easy and being able to draw and work virtual is super helpful. Also when we finish what I brought from class the practice problems created by varsity tutors are amazing. They help challenge me on the work to further my understanding. My tutor definitely has made me love tutoring. He is the best teacher I’ve had and always explains it in a different way if I don’t understand.

I can’t say enough about Varsity Tutors! My son was so far behind in reading that I thought he may have had a Learning disability. With that in mind, Varsity Tutors guide me through the correct classes and on how to gain the perfect tutor for him to succeed. After working with the school and Varsity Tutors, my son is now reading at grade level. He is thriving and feels he belongs in his class. When meeting his tutor for the first time, we talked for about 40 minutes on how my son can lose focus, get frustrated and want to give up. Anytime he felt my son was going down hill, He knew how to talk him down and come back to thrive for the rest of the session. I knew my son needed the right Tutor and thank goodness we found him. He ended the fourth grade at a first grade reading level to now (almost ending fifth grade) reading at grade level is nothing but amazing to me. I would always refer Varsity Tutors to anybody that needs any type of help. I could only say great things about this company.

We have used Varsity Tutors for years. Most recently, we have had the opportunity to use their tutoring services, which I think is a big reason why my daughter is being promoted to the next grade. She was seriously behind in math and now she is doing much better and she loves not only her classes, but her tutor!
