The Wynn Nature Center is the perfect low-key/low-cost outdoor adventure for the whole family (or all by yourself, if you'd prefer). We've visited several times, but apparently I missed the announcement that they'd built a whole new Visitor Center that opened last summer, so our first visit this year I drove right by!

The new building is beautifully built and the staff has been incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable at each visit. The trail system is well-maintained, and freckled with thoughtful labels and signage to indicate local flora and to mark the routes.

My 6-year-old was easily able to keep up and navigate the heavily root-laden ups, downs, and switchbacks of the trails with zero trouble (and lots of watching her footwork), and she had a wonderful time. A trip to the Wynn Nature Center and a peaceful wooded walk on the trails is well-worth the drive up Skyline!

Beautiful hike! Staff were amazing with their knowledge and friendliness. I would advise anyone hiking here to download a GPS map (scan barcode at office) as some of the trail signs have been knocked over by moose and can be confusing.

Wynn nature center is an amazing place to visit. There are approximately 1.5 miles of trails on the nature center property that are well cut and easily traversed. Key plants and features are marked with informative signs, and guided hikes are regularly led during the summer months. Across the road from Wynn, they have several more trails that are less traveled, but offer spectacular views. Those trails do have switchbacks and steep portions, so be mindful of your capabilities. The trails on both sides are well worth it. If you find yourself in homer, or even if you are a local and have never been up, take a couple hours to visit Wynn. You will not regret it.

I had never heard about this place until I stumbled upon it in the hills above Homer. What a remarkable trail system this place has! The trails offer so much diversity is plant life and scenery and we were treated to many different types of wildlife from spring birds, Porcupines and moose. The trails, boardwalks and premises are all very well maintained. I highly recommend visiting this nature center.

Small parking lot off the main road. Within minutes of getting onto trail you feel like life is no longer rushing around you. The deeper into the woods you go it feels like you're in the depths of nature. Good little trail system to take a breath of fresh air.

Trails are very well maintained and the area had very little mosquitoes and other bugs. My family and I walked around about 2.5 miles and had a blast. The trails are groomed well enough we had two people in our group hike in sandals.

We went as a hiking-camp group, and our nature walk was guided by a nice young man named Jack. He was very knowledgeable and provided detailed information about the edible and non-edible plants on our walk. The area was very beautiful and we appreciated the personable service Jack provided.
