My rising first grader attended the 2024 summer program at Young Scholars Academy ("YSA"), and I could not be happier that she did. She has always been a pretty good student, but YSA has undoubtedly made her better. It's as if she is a different child now than she was before the summer--that's how dramatic her evolution has been. I estimate that she will probably be two grade levels or more ahead of her class in public school now, thanks to YSA. She has learned so many things so organically that it was fun for her. And she has made friends through the entertaining field trips and Fun Fridays. She was the new girl, but the kids attending YSA welcomed and included her; they seem to be kinder, more curious and logical, and more generous than others their age. My daughter didn't want the summer to end! And I can't say enough good things about her teachers and Ms. Esther, the director. The teachers at YSA are creative and detail-oriented, and they give the kids so much individualized attention, which they can because the class size is so small (maybe 6 to 8 students per teacher). Then there's Ms. Esther, who you can tell from the start really loves kids and cares about how they are doing. She knows each student by name and who their parents are, she regularly sends detailed texts and photos showing how the kids are doing, and her interaction with each child is colored by warmth. For example, she thinks so much about each child's well-being that she will gently move children into the shade at lunch lest they get too much sun (such a mom thing to do but so bracing to see when someone does it for your child). She also makes sure that they wash their hands at the right times, that they have all their belongings with them, and that they eat what their moms want them to eat before rushing off to play. Wow! The children are taken care of so well--physically, emotionally, and academically. Overall, YSA is superb, and I will sing its praises to no end.

Highly recommend this academy! Ms. Esther is passionate, knowledgeable and caring. She takes photos and videos of my daughters’ progress, and sends them to me in a timely manner. Even though the curriculum is very demanding, both of my girls look forward to Tuesdays when they have classes there. Mrs. Osako is a wonderful writing teacher; my daughter won a local writing contest after taking her class! Our family is thankful we found this academy ?

My daughter and I are so thankful to YSA .The curriculum is thoughtfully designed, focusing not only on grammar and composition but also fostering creativity, critical thinking, and speech. The instructors here are exceptional. Their dedication and expertise create an inspiring atmosphere for learning. They engage with the students in a way that encourages them to express themselves freely while honing their writing abilities. The academy director and teachers also provide valuable feedback and constructive criticism, which has significantly improved my child's writing style and confidence.

My daughter is in the 3rd grade and she absolutely loves this academy. The director of YSA is very professional and this academy has very strong curriculum for reading and writing with qualified teachers. My daughter has advanced reading level and received "Most Improved" award in her class this month. I was very impressed that the director emailed me with my daughter's class reports every week after each lesson. So I could see what my daughter learned and what she needed to improve. If you're looking for reading and wring tutors I highly recommend this academy.
