The chicken teriyaki was awesome fresh and delicious. The sushi was bot good nor fresh the rice was very sticky and chewy, I did not like it at all. The drinks were awesome and naturally refreshing! The environment very peaceful! I was just disappointed with the rice because I was expecting a good meal! Would return though for other choices! There is not much service, self pick up, serve, and plate drop off cafeteria style!

Great atmosphere and decor. And super friendly staff! However, food is below mid 🫠 we got two of the sushi dishes (spicy salmon and tempura) and didn't finish them 🤣 overuse of avocado and for the salmon... Drenched in sauce. So that's either due to 1) inexperience of the cook or 2) low quality fish 🫠
Or both. Who's to say 🤷🏽‍♀️we also got the chicken karaage and... The batter was falling off the chicken and lacked overall flavor 😕and if the simplest of dishes can be mishandled, I can only guess the rest of the menu.

I tried the matcha strawberry Choco cookie, that was good. Also bought some matcha powder since it's from the owners family farm in Japan. Haven't tried that out yet, but I have high hopes.

Looking at other reviews, I probably should've stuck with the alcohol and pastries.

Now don't get me wrong, if you like mid tasting food, this is probably the go to spot. But IMO the flavors were watered down. I said what I said 🤣 again no hate, just a random opinion, from a random stranger, in the sea of millions.

And I'd try this place again, but maybe focus on strictly the vegan/vegetarian options since I've heard good things on that end.

Love the plants and atmosphere, but it’s quite warm in the restaurant. We ordered 2 udons (chicken and spicy beef) and a teriyaki chicken rice bowl, and genuinely have never eaten such dry and tough and overcooked chicken before in our lives.
Also, there is absolutely no service — you order at the counter, pick up your own food and cutlery, then put your own dishes away.
Maybe the sushis are better and we ordered the wrong dishes, but we were very disappointed given the raving reviews.

Another downtown HIT! Flavorful. Fun. And busy! I started with a shrimp salad roll, but I inhaled it like a pig before I remembered to take a picture. BUT, the teriyaki bowl is a MUST. The portion size was huge, so eat slowly.

Like stepping through a portal from downtown L.A. into a serene plant filled garden, that happens to smell delicious. The atmosphere was charming. The food was fantastic. The staff was friendly. The overall experience was wonderful. If we find ourselves in the neighborhood again we will absolutely stop in.

This is a great find in LA. The food was great. The avocado rolls were yummy as well as the BBQ catfish. Eclectic decor made for a unique dining experience. Looking forward to going back when in the area again.

Beautifully set up place. Good vegan options. 2 of us shared a platter and a cherry tomatoes and garlic appetizer.
The cookies were good too. The green tea cookie was really tea forward,. I enjoyed it but not everyone who tasted it did 🙂

This place is so good. I ordered garlic shrimp bowl “Mermaid” roll and spicy salmon crunchy rice. Miso soup was $7 and a very small portion though, probably wouldn’t get it again. Everything was very delicious 10/10.
