I enrolled my 7-year-old daughter in the Kumon center at Dr. Phillips to help her further develop her already strong reading skills. She has always been an excellent student, achieving great grades and enjoying her studies. However, after just two months at this Kumon center, I noticed a significant change in her behavior. She would leave her sessions with Subira in tears. Subira is rude!
While I truly believe in the Kumon method and its effectiveness, I cannot recommend this particular center. If you value your child’s feelings and want them to be treated with kindness and respect, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Children should have a say in their learning environment, and no child deserves to feel the way my daughter did. I do not recommend this center at all.

I signed my son up for Kumon reading in February 2023. First grade. He was having trouble reading and I had already been using a weekly tutor for a few years, but he was still having difficulty. I was told about Kumon from other parents at my son’s school. What I really liked about Kumon compared to other tutoring was that they have their own curriculum and they will keep working on a skill until the child masters it. Also, I like that there is work every day too and they go up through 10th or 11th grade. They test the child and start them on an easy level for their skills so they can build confidence and like the assignments. When the child masters a skill they move to the next level. This helped my son with skills he had not mastered in school but the class already moved on. He still has trouble reading, and doesn’t like to read, but he has improved so much and is getting better grades on school tests. Kumon has also helped with reading comprehension, writing, and punctuation. Subrina and her sister are very nice and easy to contact via text. Any concerns I have, they help to address them and work with me. Thank you!

Hello Miss Subira, I wanted to thank you for all the hard work you do at your Kumon facility. We are beyond happy and satisfied with the results. Since January 2023, my daughter went from 0 to slowly blending and now reading level 2 books. In math she is very comfortable with addition of +1, +2 and +3 at this point. It has given me the courage to continue with our Homeschooling path and only takes about 30 minutes of work a day. At this point she’s doing everything independently and I only help and supervise. With her being Homeschooled and only turning 6 in a month, the progress is remarkable! We are sharing our experience and recommending Kumon to all our friends. I believe it’s an irreplaceable system for both homeschoolers and students attending schools.

Teachers at this location are very patient and passion in teaching the children. My kid just started 1st grade and he’s been to this center for a year now. My husband and I are happy to see the improvement my kid has.

My oldest son started at the age of three in the Junior Kumon. This has helped him in his school and allowed him to take honor classes and get high school credit while in middle school.

I’ve been so impressed with the outcome that my youngest son is also going to Kumon.

We have been to two kumon centers prior to this and have been happy, but we kept moving states. this center is poorly managed and low staff
Important things first-
Feedback is given every time but its about how the child and parent are not doing a good job, even when child is starting a new level. People enroll in kumon to get the extra guidance lacking at home isnt it?
My son is enrolled for 1 subject but had stayed anywhere between 1-1.5 hr. He finishes his work in about 20-25 mins then waits another 20 mins to have an instructor check his work. Then corrections. We have spent 30-40 mins at other centers in the past. They need more staff.

Secondary-
There is no receptionist. Any stranger could walk into the kids area. And u wait till an instructor spots u if u have a question. When u drop ur child off there is no acknowledgement that yes they got ur child.
There is a small waiting area with no chairs or any ventilation for parents waiting at the center.

Don't bring your kid there if he has learning difference, they will keep comparing him with other kids , call him and show him what other kids are doing different than him even if you discuss the problem with them at the beggining. At the end your kid could have low self esteem from those people.

My son goes there for last 4 years!! We have seen great improvement in math and reading skills. All the teachers are doing wonderful job there.
